Wheel and tire question for 68 GTS

-
Nice car....Personally, I would keep the original 14 x 5.5 wheels.
Thats a collector car, and is worth more with its original wheels.
If you must experiment with different rims/tires, keep your oem wheels for another day.
If you're talking about my car I definitely plan to keep the original tires and wheels , I just wanted a diferent look for awhile and I like the redlines with the body colour wheels and small caps.

NO, 60 series is an aspect ratio. It doesn't necessarily mean wider or lower profile. It is an aspect number between the 2. (Ex 325/50R15)

My Cummins Ram 2500 truck has 35" tall tires under it. They are 60 series. ( LT315/60R20) They are anything but low profile!

My car has 50 series under it. They are 28" tall on 15's. Do these look low pro to you?

Buy your tires based on the SECTION width and TIRE HEIGHT that you require.

Looking at the sizes in redlines on Diamondbacks site the 60's are lower profile than the 70's and they have a bigger section and wider tread , so I picked the 70's based on that. With 7" wheels I didn't think I could get the wider tires in there without modifications.
