So some of the guys from that were watchin the races in the 70's and 80's will for sure know what i'm talkin about. I'm looking to buy a set of the blue headlights you used to often see in the old drag cars and can't find them anywhere?? does anyone know of a company that makes these if there even is one? Theres a pic if ya don't know what i'm talking about. Thanks guys!

I don't think anyone makes these. I read an article recently on a guy who recreated the S&M 68 Barracuda to a t and he had to make the headlights.

Easy to make yourself. Go to your local discount auto parts store and get some metal tint paint. It's for painting over chrome valve covers and such. Wet sand the head lights with 600 grit wet paper and spray them. Did the ones on my Dart several years ago.

Years ago in about 76 or 77 I got a ticket for having blue headlights on my
Blue 73 Challenger. It looked cool but the State Patrol didn't think so. I worked at a speed shop then and we sold spray on window tint. Just spray the bulbs and install. I was told that blue is an emergency color for fire departments especially volunteer firefighters in small towns. I wouldn't reccomend them for the street. Mike

I remember airbrushing those type of headlights and grills before I retired from being an vehicle artist and pinstriper. I did that type of work for many years

You can use yellow on a street car, but red and blue are a no no.

Just finished a custom that we did Blue lights on it and just got pulled over by a statey and he never said a word abought the lights so we asked him and he said they were "legal" unless they were flashing! I live in Ohio so dont know about other states.WE sprayed our lights with blue candy

back wen I did them I would clean the the light good with lacquer thinner spray two or three coats of candy color ( house of color ) the more you put on the darker they get on a race car they would last a long time on a street car about a year the heat from the lights would crack the paint..........Artie
