Your favorite road trip car ?

My best road car was a black '77 Mercury Cougar .. The thing had the 400 engine and was a great car. Had only 33k on it back in 89/90's when we used it to go from NY to FL. several times. On one of its last trips with it, we left Disney World around 7 PM, after being there all day. With the car already loaded, we started back to NY right away. While my 9 yr. old daughter, in her PJ's, slept in the back, my wife tilted her seat back and slept all night. I drove until 5 AM, then slept for about two hours, and got back to it. I don't think any cars passed us all night, as that thing just buzzed at 80/85 all night. It looked just like this one.

Had a 79 LTD II that was a great highway cruiser, virtually identical to the Cougar.

One of my first-ever cars was a ‘75 Cougar. Pretty rusty, but even so it certainly was a nice cruiser.

Kinda miss that car every now and then…..

Had a couple of Gran Torinos from that era, they were very nice cruisers too, same platform.
