    Collector Car Insurance

I am insured thru my regular policy (Cincinnati Insurance Company). Rates are stupid cheap and they really don't seem to care that much about how I drive it as long as it isn't my primary source of transportation.

    Wheel opening mouldings - redux

Thanks. I have been looking at those. Problem is that they only list them as fitting hardtops through 1970. I have written this vendor, and the other vendor who has them listed, and they were clueless as to what they actually fit. Our friend Rick from Laysons confirms that they are basically...

    Trunk Rust

Good point. That's seam sealer, not undercoating. The stampings are spot welded together, then the seam sealer is applied to keep moisture from seeping in. You will want to dig out all of that, then use a seam sealer like 3M seam sealer to reseal the seams. Mother Mopar slathered the crap in...

    Wheel opening mouldings - redux

OK, lets try this again. I am working on a 1971 Swinger. I need wheel opening mouldings. Are any other years' mouldings correct for this model?

    A body wheel moldings

How much difference is there in the wheel opening mouldings of the hardtops between 1967 and 1976?

How do you remove door glass

Thanks. I removed a tinted piece of glass a few months ago, and it involved an air-powered cut-off wheel to complete the job. I got the glass, but I ruined the crap out of everything else doing it! I think I missed the allen screw under the smallish plug! THANKS!

    Bad Day!

I talked to a Guardian glass dealer last week. They had tinted windshields in stock in Cincinnati for $150 cash and carry. They don't install glass that old. That's for a hardtop, but I am sure the others are priced similarly. The fellow I talked to said that they will make any windshield...

    1971 Swinger headliner bow clips

Are the headliner bow clips the same in 1971 as they are in 1970?

Any good way to make the brake lights brighter?

If you switch to LED lamps you may need to upgrade your flasher unit as well. The LED units don't draw nearly as much power as the 1157's, so there may not be enough current draw in the circuit to make a thermal flasher unit work properly. Sylvania sells a Silverstar 1157 bulb that is...

Parking light ground - 71 swinger

It's been a year now since i tore my 71 dart apart. It's on its way back together now. But, after a year, you kind of forget stuff. On the back of the parking light assembly there is a .250 tab that aparently grounds the parking light bulb. Is that true? If so, is there a separate lead that...

    Heater control valve

2 Darts - you're absolutely right. I get so caught up in stupid minutia (sp?) that I lose site of reality. I do try to keep this crap original, not to please anyone else, but to please me. And that's great, up to a point. I have a 1947 Chrysler New Yorker. neat car. It has 2 heaters...

    Heater control valve

Anybody know where to get a new "correct" heater control valve for an air conditioned 1971? Everybody (Advance, Autozone, RockAuto etc) sell a unit that I am sure is the functional equivalent, but is nowhere near being correct - appearance wise.
