    Magnum block into Duster

No brainer! Just swapped in a rebuilt 5.9 into my Duster, all the accessories from an LA swap over, get either a Magnum intake or drill the heads for LA intake, or new Iron Rams which is what I did from Hughes so I could re-use my Eddy Air Gap. Just make sure you use a neutral balanced convertor...

    Firecore Distributor

Your reman would be fine, send it to Don @ FBO with all your specs and have him curve and phase it for ya. Just may have to deal with him razzing you for buying the fire core box instead of his, but would be cheaper and probably more accurate than shelling out the $ for the Firecore dizzy

max effective cam lift for stock 360 heads

Ran Hughes Whiplash in my bone stock 360 and it kicked butt. Loved it. .512/.518 lift on stock 596 castings and std springs and OEM rockers with no issues.

IMM Iron heads on that Mag 318

    Hughes cams

Hughes has probably done more work on designing cams specifically for our engines than anyone else out there arguably. The ramps are aggressive I suppose but they have cams to suit all combo's and desired outcomes! The difference is they design even the most mild "stock replacement" cam to...

    having my heads ported ?

I'm running that cam in my stock stroke, 9.2:1 360 and love it. But that's it's intended application. I'd agree with others, those heads with that work would be overkill and mismatched to the cam. IMO, take Brian @ IMM up on his offer! Have the heads worked to your combo. Plus your both in CA...

    Action Plus, 360, or...?

Sounds like the Weiand is the popular choice and I'd agree! That's a great intake. My curiousity, what Demon carb you running?

Best block for mild small block project?

^^ what he said above, best small block option and readily available in about a bazillion trucks and vans! Factory roller cam, better heads etc. grab one, grab a Stroker kit and some worked up iron ram heads from Hughes and a matching cam, top off with an Air-Gap and appropriate carb and your...

cam choice for fairly high compression?

Heck id go with this if you could change some things around to run more lift safely http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/products.php?browse=category&level0=QS0gU21hbGwgQmxvY2sgIkxBIg==&level1=Q2Ftc2hhZnQ=&level2=RmxhdCBUYXBwZXQsIFNvbGlk&partid=21802

cam choice for fairly high compression?

Too small, better with 1.6 rockers but still on the small side for your combo IMO. I'm running Hughes Whiplash cam which is .512/.518 lift on a warmed over otherwise stock 360. I'd go solid and take advantage of the 1.5 ratio adjustable rockers you can trade for and go with something like this...

    Voodoo vs thumpr

...or atleast consider the Hughes Whiplash cam too. That's what I'm running in my 360 and it degree'd in perfectly and really "Thumps" no pun intended! Gonzo low end torque and great vacuum and Cyl pressure! Sounds bad to the bone too.
  15. Beatnik

    Voodoo vs thumpr

You've got the cubes and the cyl head setup, why not take advantage if the higher lift and the fact that the Voodoo is ground to take advantage of the .904 lifter diameter which in turn means faster more aggressive ramp rates. The Thumpr's are/where designed to sound choppy, not with small block...

no start - need troubleshooting help

Not aware of a specific trouble shooting process but based what you've said, you've got fuel, and the car will turnover. To me it seems like your lacking spark. I'd check all the obvious stuff first! -ballast - connectors and grounds to ecu, voltage reg, coil, alt, bulkhead Just go through...

Here's my 360 combo what do u think?

A good convertor can make a world of difference. TCI Streetfighter in my 727 was amazing compared to the stock one. That and maybe some 3.23's at the same time and a switch to 2.5" exhaust would seriously make you start frying tires for a living. I'd leave the motor alone... Why muck with it if...

    Lunati VooDoo Question

Robs got the ticket there with headers and a converter too if you havent done so... Told ya the old 60403 would be a popular choice! Dont to worry about roller rockers, stock stuff would be fine for the time being, then upgrade to rollers at some point. We are all talking hydraulic flat...

    Lunati VooDoo Question

Hughes cams are nice. Running the Whiplash in my Duster and love it! I'm running a 9:1 360, air gap, 750 DP and headers on an otherwise bone stock engine and 3.23 gears and it will burn 275/50 drag radial through 1st gear no prob. hughesengines.com Lunati VooDoo are nice too. Both are ground...

    ***Hypothetical Q---Thumpr/Whiplash cam in a 273?***

Run the smaller 318 version of the Whiplash. Should sound nice and run great! I wouldn't run the Thumper if I had a choice, they are good cams but I'm not sure if they are ground to take advantage of the .904 mopar lifter. Hughes are, and subsequently you get better ramp rate, and performance if...

    xe 262 h comp

Id go with the xe268 myself. The 262 is on the small side. You've got the cubic inches, why not take advantage? Can still run stock convertor too! Heck I'm running the Hughes Whiplash on the same set up you've got. 360 stock bore, stock iron heads and stock compression with an Air Gap and 750...

    What cam would you run?

:burnout: No need to go beyond this recommendation IMHO If you want something with a wicked idle and good torque with decent vacuum still a Hughes Whiplash is a great choice. It's what I'm running in my warmed over 360 and love it!

    318/360 Crank/347 running on Dyno

Y'all are starting to sound like a bunch of old woman arguing about the weather....lol. The man built a nice little motor that was well thought out and assembled, broken in and made a nice little power curve. Nuff said! Kudos to him! Hope his wife goes through a lot of tires!

    Carb Swap?

I would try an RPM style intake and a bigger carb Forsure. 1406 is a tad small for a healthy 360. I swapped from a 625cfm Street Demon to a Quick Fuel 750vs Slayer and it was night and day. I'm selling my Quick Fuel if your interested, PM me or check it out in the classifieds mechanical section...

    Whiplash Bottom Line

MTmopars is on the right track. I just got one in my otherwise stock 360 and Imcan tell you it has some grunt. My mill is about 9.2:1 compression, stock heads and an Air Gap. Doug's headers and dual 2 1/2" exhaust. I've got 3.23 gears as well. High 12's with everything else completely sorted is...

Hate my adjustable rockers, can i change them out for stock?

Why? I ran same cam with reg stamped steel OEM style rockers. Rollers ideal? Sure....but it ran great without them. Agree however....just get them adjusted right, make sure your lifters are pumping up etc etc and you should be good to go.
