    Stock 340 dyno tests?

I haven't driven a stock 340 since 1969 so it's difficult for me to remember just how fast the '69 Dart really was. Today I began some searches for some stock 340 dyno tests. Here are two I hope that may shed some light on the 340 output. #1stock to modified Note how #2 was built to stock...

[FOR SALE] 2011 Challenger RT Classic (no engine)

The 5.7 twin turbo engine that came out is being use in another project. With less than 5,000 miles and never in an accident this beauty was going to be the donor car for the '71 Duster that we got with no engine, transmission, front suspension and interior. We were going to install the...

    Rocker arm geometry.

Or rather.....Correct Rocker arm geometry collateral damage. The things you learn about rocker geometry after spending money on what looked like great stuff. I'm attempting to clean up a few things and then go on to time the cam in the 540. So I took the Indy EZ heads off and the cam out of...

    Big block heads and cams

I grew up with my dad porting these heads in our garage in 1959. I've never run a stock unported iron head in one of our cars, that I can remember, since that time. The guy down the street was grinding the base circle off his cams on his bench grinder to get more lift and going a little faster...

906 heads and 740+ NA horsepower?

I had to pull the 906 "boat anchor" heads from the shelf yesterday and strip them, so I thought I might as well take some pictures of them as we had no pictures from years before. In 2011 we used them in a Mopar Muscle Magazine dyno contest at Comp Cams and they have been sitting lonely on the...

Cody's 440....RRR is off the hook.

Huh? You want to do what? Sounds like fun, let's try it.

    400/450 stroker....Cheap parts, lotta work.

Kinda got the 346 iron heads ready for the KB251 pistons. Flat chamber depths were from .084"-.102" and they are all now .110". The quench pad on the pistons are .260" tall and we'll have to mill about 1/2 that off or rather some .125" with the preliminary measurements. Cody and I are having...

Head & cam selection...346 iron w/solid roller or Indy EZ w/XE285HL

The thread on a head and cam selection for a 440 got me to thinkin' about some old 2014 dyno tests we did on a 8.9:1 compression 440 with 2355 pistons. I thought I had burned the old dyno sheets but there in the corner was a dusty yellow folder with a stack of 80 dyno runs. So then we have two...

What? Your cylinder heads are not done?

Sorry. But we are practicing Anti-social Mega-distancing. Dry camp this morning @ 8:00 AM.

    MATS March 22-24, 2020

The entire world may not be crazy. I just checked their website and a/o 1:00 PM Mountain Time today 3/16/2020 Muscle Cars at the Strip is still on.

    60 Billion RPM.........for real!

Sure, sure. 60 Billion RPM. Anybody know how much horsepower it makes there? What in the whirled? Tiny, floating dumbbell rotates 60 billion times per minute

    Thumps or muscles?

I cannot decide if I should buy a lumpy cam so my car sounds hot, or if I should buy a muscle suit and pretend my body is buff.

So like the stupid thing just shuts itself off on the dyno?

    From the junk pile?

I was upstairs digging out the old cylinder heads that we had in the sort-it-all-out-trash-pile and throwing them in the scrap iron outside. They were mostly a bunch of 452, 902, 915 and 906 big block heads, with a few small block heads thrown in, and look what showed up. Notice the intake...

RAMM wanted to know about this 451..............

You would think these La Roy clowns could do better than 3rd place. Here is a Mopar Muscle Magazine article from 2009 on the 451 that J.Rob was asking me about. Some pictures are available on the website also. There was a lot of laughing when we said we were going to make 700+ horsepower when...

    T.N.A.C.C.B.P.P. EQ360

I'm really tired of competing against others and comparing builds against those that may be similar and have been posted online sometime in the past. So-and-so did this and joe-blow got that. Before I quit the game, I wasn't sure I wanted to post anything on The Not A Camp Cry Baby Pissy Pants...

Fine! Use the old time stubby short manifolds and go slower than you could. AND quit yer bitching.

Air flows: Street Dominator & Edelbrock RPM

There are a lot of other things I would have rather been doing, but we got involved in some flow test comparisons between the two intakes. We've got a 440 coming in for dyno tests and I believe we'll be able to tests the two intakes in back to back dyno runs.

1970 T/A Challenger with no oil pressure.

The 340 T/A block is long gone so he is running the 6-Pack on a 360. He had back surgery and cannot drive the 4-spd very long before he hurts too much. So when he goes out with the T/A he takes a relief driver. While the relief driver was bringing the car back he say's, "I was so scared driving...

Victor 340 single plane intake port size?

Who out there has or has seen the Victor 340. I have a brand new one here and the port size matches the 318 intake gasket. Is that your same experience? I'm thinking it would take one heck of a port job to get it to match a big aftermarket head.

    Sidewinder heads

Some thoughts, by others, on the Sidewinder heads.........not that I mind this being on the low compression 400 engine thread, but the subject is kind of hidden there. An Error Has Occurred!

    Oil in the combustion chamber.

Just curious, what do you think? Anybody have any real life experience on what kind of power difference, if any, you can get buy stopping the source of all this oil? It's not rings or seals but a hole in the cylinder head squirting pressurized oil into an intake port. Yeah, it smoked a little.

    383 Victor Dominator Intake?

What do you think? We made this several years ago and never got it on the dyno or in a car. Modified 383 Victor Intake and a modified HVH SS4500/4150 2" Spacer. It was made for a dyno contest that we were going to run a 400 based stroker but switched to a 440 based engine so we never used it...

    Edelbrock RPM head owners unite!

Don't let the world think we have to give up anything to the Trick Flow 240 community. Fight for your right for horsepower from your RPM heads and let the world know you've got a great head too! Here is a 93 octane 451ci stroker with RPM heads that made 723HP on Comp Cams dyno in 2009. And...

Edelbrock RPM vs Edelbrock Victor (again)

I keep posting this information. Is anyone listening? Oh, they look real purdy, but I don't recommend the Edelbrock Victor except in high rpm full race engines! On a street or street/strip engine, a ported RPM is going to be the best of both worlds. 496 stroker. 10.3:1 compression, Edelbrock...
