    Recommend A Smooth Street Shock?

Not looking for a performance/handling shock (I realize that sets off a lot of people), so apart from base Monroe's, what front shocks do you recommend for a '61 A Body? I removed a worn set of KYB's, but the Monroe's are a little too soft for our weather beaten roads down here on the Gulf...

First Year For Dual Master Cylinder?

What was the first year that early A Bodies got a dual master cylinder (and that would be the most simple bolt-in for my '61 Lancer)? Yes, I realize this may need to go to the brake forum, but I'm seeking out those that really know the first few years of A Body life. Thanks

Clothes Pin On The Fuel Line?

Several local Slant mechanics have told me the same story: Back in the day they used to put a wooden clothes pin on the fuel line to prevent hard starts and vapor lock. Am I being PUNKED?? :o

    '60-'62 Slant Owners Beware - A/C Brackets

Unless some company is new to the game, I don't know of anyone that makes an aftermarket Sanden compressor bracket for the earliest, '60-'62 Slants. The engines are pushed closer to the radiators than later Slants, and the available aftermarket Sanden brackets push the compressor too far...

Ethanol Free Gas - What's Your Experience?

On my first full tank of 91 octane, ethanol free gas, and the Slant seems to run smoother, idle better, and hot start better than before. Not certain, but think my compression ratio is stock for a '68 engine. Or am I just imagining things? What's been your actual experience with stock-type...

Finally - Fan Shroud for Early Slants w/19" Radiators

Local sheet metal guy (good dude, but busy with his day job) designed and built this shroud (first one) for my stock 19" radiator in the '61 Lancer with auto trans cooler in the stock radiator. Slant Vibrations and Alternator Mounts

1960-1961 Slant alternator mounts were stamped steel and may be the source of engine vibrations. In 1962 Chrysler redesigned the alternator mounts and made them from cast iron. They are much more sturdy. They bolt to the block using the same holes and make accommodations for a coil mount...
