How to Choose a Mopar Restoration Shop?

So when you've decided to bring your car to a muscle car restoration shop for either a full or partial restoration, what do you guys look for? I mean I am no Jay Leno with unlimited budget and my own mechanics on hand, but I can afford to restore a car or two. That means the super high end...

Big Block Alternator Fitting. Bushing or no Bushing?

Building a 440 for my Dart. Installing a front accessory mounting kit (CVF) which comes with all the brackets and spacers. With the 440 Source alternator I'm using, one tab on the top has a bushing (looks like a giant roll pin) in it. The bushing is so thick that it is spacing out the alternator...

Can't get Pro Parts headers to fit.

Doing a 440 swap in a Slant 6 1969 Dart. I purchased a set of Pro Parts headers from Mazzolini Racing. The passenger side was easy but I'm having a hard time with the driver's side. As shown in the images here, I'm trying to get the middle two tubes to fit but they keep resting on the shock...

Manual foot pedals to automatic foot pedals?

I've got a 69' Swinger that has the 3 pedals for the use of a manual transmission. I'm converting the car to a floor shift automatic transmission. Is it possible to swap out my manual 3 pedals for an auto trans 2 pedal setup? Also, are the different pedal setups master cylinder specific? Thanks.

Column shift to floor shift steering column differences?

Switching my 69' Dart from column to floor shift. Took the old column shift steering column out and was comparing it to the floor shift steering column. The steering coupler off the old one fit the new steering column perfect (so I guess they are interchangable). Just wondering what the two...

Direct Connection Big Block Valve Covers (Rare)?

I have an old set of blue anodized direct connection valve covers. I’m doing a big block build for my Dart and I thought these would be super cool to put on the engine. I was wondering how rare these things are? I went to Chryslers at Carlisle and I did not see a single pair of these anywhere...

Hole in inner fender in engine bay?

Taking apart my engine bay to paint it in my 69’ Dart. Found this hole under the passenger side hood hinge. Is this a typical place for them To rust? Should I just weld in a patch here? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

    18” or 18.5” fan for a 440?

Putting a 440 in my 69’ Dart. Would a 2863216 7 blade 18.5” clutch fan cool better than a 18” 7 blade clutch fan? Or is the 18.5” fan not compatible with this car at all? I know the 216 18.5” fan is not listed for the 69’ Dart for some reason. Would there be an interference issue of some sort...

[WANTED] Need Junk 440 Short Block

I just need a junk 440 big block. Can be cracked, rusted or whatever. I'm putting a big block in my Dart and I would like to have a 440 (while my 440 is being built) to use as a template so I can try to fit everything in the engine compartment while I wait for my real engine. I'm located in...

    Trying to weld, I’m terrible!

Trying to weld in some floor patches in my 69’ Dart. Using a MillerMatic 251 MIG welder with .030” wire. Can’t get a good weld for the life of me (as you can see). Been trying the whole day. I suck. Blowing holes through the floor. Turn the voltage and speed down and now the weld just piles up...

    How much chassis stiffening needed?

Well, finally got the word from the machine shop that my 440 block is good to go! Dropping a built 440 into my 1969 Slant 6 Dart. Question: I figure on making around 550HP with this engine (maybe a 150hp shot of nitro down the road). Would just welding in subframe connectors be enough for the...

    A/C --> Slant 6 --> 440?

I have a 1969 Dart with a Slant 6 with it's original A/C and the A/C works great. I'm taking the Slant 6 out and dropping in a 440. Question is, can I use the same A/C system with the big block 440 in there? Would all I have to do is get different compressor mounting brackets? Or would I need a...

Slant 6 to 340 Engine Swap in 69' Dart

Removing the Slant 6 and installing a built 340 in an automatic trans 1969 Dart and have some questions. -The car has air conditioning and power steering stock. Any issues with keeping both as long as I can find brackets that will mount them on the 340? -Can I use the same transmission and...

[WANTED] 1969 Dart Front Bucket Seats

I’m located in Western NY and am looking for a set of front bucket seats in any condition. Thanks!
  21. rr4406pak

    Can you identify these seats?

I was given these seats with my 1969 Dart. The seat covers look correct and headrest but the tracks look wrong and, if you look closely, you can see that the seat release is a chrome lever up on the side of the seat. Let me know if you recognize what seats these came out of. (I just might adapt...

69' Dodge Dart Resto/Upgrade in NY

Let the journey begin... Had this Slant 6 225 Dart with a/c for the last 23 years (and brought all 3 kids home from the hospital in it). Still has the fender tag and build sheet. Picked up a 340 for it along the way and always promised myself I'd drop it in, so now's the time. I am not a great...

1969 Dart Torque Shaft Bracket? Do they reproduce this?

I'm getting ready to convert my 69' Dart from column shift to console shift (auto trans). I have all the shift linkage (I think) from the floor shifter to the trans except one bracket that holds the torque shaft. Do they sell the bracket that bolts onto the trans that holds the shaft? Thanks.

1969 Dart Console Switch? What is this?

I'm getting ready to convert my 69' Dart from column shift to console shift (auto trans). I dug out the console I got 20 years ago and found a rotary switch next to the ashtray. Is this stock or did someone install it? If stock, what is it for? Thanks!
