    Toyota Comericals

Some say drivers should be able to stop those cars. If you have ever been behind the wheel of a runaway car, you know that its easier said than done. The first time it happened to me was in a 79 or 80 Firebird Formula. When I stomped on the gas, a plug wire got caught in the secondary linkage...

Any spring plans for you Mopar?

I have some nice wide BFGs for the back, just need to buy two wheels to put them on. Then maybe switch over to an overdrive 4speed instead of the one I have. It's fun in town, but highway driving is like punishment with the 391 gear. Also, hoping to hook up with the Hot Rod Power Tour this...

    Too cold to work

You're right, Memike, the wife is very happy with it. Thank you for the comments, and yes I've done this before. It's been a long time though, so I was glad it came out as nice as it did. I'm getting cabin fever so bad I can't stand it. It's supposed to get up to 20* today, maybe I'll take the...

    Too cold to work

I would much rather be working on my louver project, or just about anything outside. But I have to admit, it sure does feel good to have it done!

    Too cold to work

Thanks for the comment. :-D The pipe cuts all have a slit going from the outside edge to the hole. Make that slit with a utility blade, then if you are careful (and lucky) you can open it up just enough to get it around the pipe.

    Too cold to work

Too cold to work today (construction). And too cold to work in the garage (my space heater will take the edge off if its not too bad, but single digit temps are too much for it). Sooooooo, the new bathroom floor got put in. I hate working on bathrooms because they are always a PITA...

    Why Mopar?............The Passion....

Mopars are different, they get under your skin somehow. And once that happens, it is no longer an option, you have to have them.:love7: And for some it's like eating potato chips, you can't have just one!

    Christmas

Happy late birthday GTXperience! I was at Lowe's, so apparently it's not just one place that's doing this. I know Christmas is the biggest sales time of the year, but jeeeeeeez! I think if they leave this stuff up too long people will get tired of it, and it will have the opposite affect...

    New guy needs your opinion.....

I'm with redfish, he must plan on getting the car or he wouldn't have sent that much money. I'd give him some time to get things back on track again.

    Christmas

It seems like every year the stores put holiday stuff out a little bit earlier. I can understand that you want to get a jump on things, that's good business. But I don't remember ever seeing Santa Claus sharing shelf space with a witch before, especially in the first week of October. I didn't...

    mythbusters lol

I agree with you. There have been a lot of times that I thought they were off base with their experiments, and then they make unfounded conclusions. I don't think they have spent enough time in the real world. Bunch of Hollywood crappola if you ask me. I do like it when they blow things up...

    tire squeal = DUI?

All he told me was that the ticket was for squealing tires. And yes, I can't help but think the age has a lot to do with the increase. But that is the first time I have ever heard anyone try to equate a burnout with a DUI.

    tire squeal = DUI?

Just came from a meeting at my car club, and have to relate this story to you. It seems that the 18 year old son of one of our members made the mistake of doing a burn-out within range of one of our county deputies. This sin was committed outside of town on a country road, with noone else in...

    Spring fever

No, you can't bum me out today. I'm in northern Illinois, and would bet money that we don't get any more snow this season. The forecast for this week is almost 70 for Monday and Tuesday, then cooling off again. But this cooling off will still have highs in the 40s. Thanks for the compliment on...

    Spring fever

Finally a nice day on the weekend so it can be enjoyed! Sunny and 60 feels good after that long winter we had. So I had to clean the car up and take some pics. Played football with my youngest and cruised all over town, it was great. Hope everyone else is having a good one too!

    I want to quit smoking

I smoked for 25 years. I must have quit a hundred different times and always went back to it. I tried pills, patches and cold turkey. Finally, one day the cold turkey worked. Now it's been a little over 4 years since I quit and it's well worth the effort. The thing to remember is don't give up...

    Flippin' cars

It seems like the people who get angry about "flippers" are the ones who wanted the car but didn't have (or want to spend) enough money to buy it. If the price is too high, what difference does it make how long the seller has owned it? I remember once calling a Mopar specific junkyard looking...

    392 Wiw?

Thanks for the response dartman, I was starting to think that I had asked a taboo question or something. I know the market is changing, and it's difficult for anyone to know exactly where anything is valued on the market. I am just hoping for a few suggestions or guesses so that when I see it...

    392 Wiw?

Going to look at a 392 hemi with trans. It supposedly runs good, and I'm assuming that it's a survivor or an older rebuild. What do you think it's worth?

    What irks you

When someone tells me the car is "RESTORED", and it has a different engine, trans, rearend, gauges, paint color, etc. Don't get me wrong, I like modified cars. In fact, I modify most of my own cars. I just don't like when someone claims modified is restored.:angry7:

    My wife says I'm sick...

That car has almost 300,000 miles on it, and it still runs good. I told my wife that sooner or later, that 4cylinder has to die. And when it does, I'm thinking a small block and a 4speed would be just the ticket!:toothy10:
