    Windshield corner trim repair

I’m surprised factories would take the time to repair such a small piece instead of just chucking it into the scrap metal bin.

    Windshield corner trim repair

I would have thought auto makers back then would have been more focused on the “time is money” aspect of the business, and have used only sheet metal parts that came out of the stamps without any damage, especially small pieces.

    Windshield corner trim repair

This corner trim looks like it had a stress crack when it was formed and the crack was repaired with brass. Has anyone come across similar repairs on metal trim?

A few questions about refinishing a dash

The previous owner was a heavy smoker and the stains are hard to remove from the unpainted surfaces. I’ve tried alcohol; water based cleaner; and paint thinner - they all work but it’s a very slow process. Any recommendations for a fast working cleaner? I haven’t tried a solvent based wax...

    Neutralizing Phosphoric Acid

I treated some rust on the interior of my dash with phosphoric acid, and then wiped off the excess before it dried but some of the acid is in a seam. There seems to be two trains of thought about neutralizing it: that it’s necessary and that it’s not necessary. I don’t want moisture in the seams...

Acid etch primer on plastic trim

I have a quick question. I was told to use an acid etch primer on plastic before painting but only if it’s unpainted plastic. My Barracuda has factory red plastic trim. Is it safe to use the acid etch primer on it or would that cause the red finish to bubble? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried it? If you have does it dry hard or does it stay soft? It might be messy trying to re-install the internals if it stays soft.

What is best way to finish door interior?

I want to remove the door and window mechanisms in my doors and then have the bodyshop prime the door, including the interior. Would this be too extreme? Am I better off to paint the interior with POR15 versus epoxy primer? Can the body shop even get complete coverage of the interior with the...

I've replaced the incorrect dash pad that was in my 68 Barracuda. Someone had used the wrong pad and cut off the ends to make it fit to the lower dash pads. There is no other damage to it. Is this usable to anyone?

I noticed that someone had a speaker core for sale on eBay and the item description said that the speaker core and cover would have to be refurbished. 1968 Barracuda top dash pad

Is there anyway to determine if a used top dash pad is for a 68 Barracuda? Would the length of the ends be different (maybe shorter) from all A-bodies? It seems all the repops are generic A-body.:scratch:
