Parts diagram for OE oil filter adapter?

I'm about ready to install the OE oil filter adapter on my 360.(1975/76) I ran a search on here to try to find out where the gaskets go. Lots of answers. Only the one between the block and adapter. That one plus the big thick cork one between the block and the adapter. Those two and the...

    Oil filter fitting torque?

My FSM says nothing about installing the oil filter plate. I am using the stock parts. I believe you just use a gasket between the plate and the block and nothing else. The fitting has a 1/2" square on the inside. Any one how the torque spec for this? The engine is a 360 from 1976. As always...

    Tips for installing heads.

I'm about ready to install the heads on the block. Any tips, suggestions, and or advice would be great!! The block and heads are mid 70's mainly stock 360 parts. I have read about using #2 Peratex around some of the holes, using thread sealer on the head bolts, and black RTV around the...

    Pan gaskets, safe/sorry

I was getting ready to install the pan on my mid 70's 360. I noticed that the side gaskets go all the way to the timing gear cover and the rear main. The curved end seals appear to have to on top of the side gaskets. (when the block is on the stand with the crank top) Is this correct? It...

    Very rare valve covers

Some of you will say that these are just Mickey Thompsons. To that I would say WRONG Mopar breath. These are monogrammed valve covers since my initials are M T. Got a good deal on the covers. Put them thru the sand blaster and put on the car's name. Then a couple of coats of clear and the...

    Big Chamfer?

My donor engine is a 1975-76 360. When I took it apart I found about 2 lbs. of blue RTV, A screwdriver under the push rods, and not one of the con rods in the correct cylinder. I have also had some minor problems with the work the machine did, so my trust in them is not 100%. My 66 Plymouth...

To gasket or not to gasket, that is the question

The gasket set for my mid 70's 360 does not have a gasket to go between the oil pump and the rear main cap. Am I missing the gasket or does the pump without a gasket? If no gasket, how about a little black RTV? Thanks, Mike

    How long and how tight?

Engine: 360 came with a front sump oil pan. How long? With a center sump pan, the dip stick doesn't want to go in all the way. When it does, some of it is laying along the bottom of the pan. Is there a different stick needed. How long should the dip stick be from the bead that hits the tube...

    Weird cam lobes

I had the crank, pistons, cam, timing cover, and water pump together then had to put it on the back burner for a little over a year. The cam was properly coated with assy. grease all over. Added a little more after it was installed. Got back to it yesterday. The lobes almost look like they are...

    Why no numbers Thank you!!!

The title says it all. It must be a replacement of some kind. 66 PLY VALIANT: Believe it or not SB are not too easy to find in the Denver area. When you can, they tend to be a little $$$. This came with everything, even the headers. The Junkyard pulled it and loaded it my Van. Total cost...

    Why no numbers?

Awhile back I picked up 360 engine from a junkyard. It was in a 75-76 Dodge pickup. After I got it apart, I looked for the engine numbers. I looked on the front of the block just below the head no numbers. I checked the block just above the pan, no numbers. The casting date is 6-30-75. Does...

    ... with your dipstick

The donor engine for my 66 Barracuda is a 1976 360 from a dodge pick up. The problem is with the center sump pan, the dipstick doesn't want to go all the way in to the tube. The last half inch is hard and it wants to jump back out a little. No baffles, oil pan from Speedway, tube in stock...

    Oil filter mount?

When I took my 360 to the machine shop, I forgot to take off the plate and fitting for the stock oil filter. The shop returned them loose. I can't find anything in the service manual about how they go or where the gasket and seals go. Sure feel stupid!!! Any help?
