    a500 swap tunnel revamp

    If you are not using torsion bars anymore and wanted to swap in an a500, when clearancing the tunnel, would you have to retain the tunnel hump part of the torsion bar mount? What if you made the crossmember stiff enough, could you eliminate the hump support?

    Is there a calculator or can someone figure the ideal gear ratio, if the constants are known? Such as peak hp, peak rpm, tire size, etc. Also, should peak rpm be obtained when crossing the traps?

    tranny filings

    I changed the lube in my 904 and when I took the pan off, there was filings on the bottom. It looked like a silver grit and was kinda gooey, I believe that is because of the oil. There was about a 1/2 cup of this stuff. Is this normal or what is the matter? It also stuck to the magnet in the pan.

    setting of my pinion

    My tranny points down 3.3 degrees and the driveshaft is up 4.3 degrees and the pinion is down 2.8 degrees as I measure on the snubber location. Does this seem correct? I feel like I have a vibration on acceleration. What should I do? This is a 904 with a gearvendors, 8 3/4 rear in a 72 dart.
