thanks. it never seems like i get as much done as i think i should, but you cant really rush things when you are trying to figure out the best way to route wires. do you have any pictures of your car?
 
Yes,I have a couple!
It's an 83 Plymouth Caravelle (Fury),ex detective car. Has all the usual heavy duty brakes,suspension,2:94 sure grip and a 318 4 bbl. Was my daily driver for 4 years. Im just getting it going for a trade deal. I'll get a big block 400/727 and whatever else I want/need from the donor car.

That will end up in my Dart. ThenI'll need to figure out what to do with all my small block stuff,lol! Sorry,no current pics of my Dart as it's buried in my garage.

I contemplated painting it and selling but theres not much market for bad gas mileage 4 doors,lol...but the gas mileage should pick up now. There was no less than 3 separate fuel leaks.So now it has a new gas tank and about 6 feet of new fuel line.

It got hit by a truck so I repaired it. Looks like this now.

245/60/15 all around mounted on 15x7 cop rims. Im keeping the rubber,rims and caps.
 
well today was expensive, but i got a lot of little things done. did the rear brakes, put in my 3/8" sending unit, installed my gas pedal and throttle cable, and got all the stuff to run the rest of my fuel lines. things seem to be coming together. just a lot of little loose ends.

thanks steve. i may need some help breaking in the cam haha...... i cant wait to fire this thing up. 20 years since it was last registered and its almost ready.

its al looking good,,one thing, i dont see the ground strap on the gas tank,it is normally a metal strip with a clamp on each end, one end clamps to the steel part of the fuel line above the rubber junction hose and the other end clamps to the steel fule line comming out of the sending unit,it out that ground your fuel gauge has no ground
 
ahhh good eye. i will have to get one of those. i forgot about that. thanks! i will be making a trip to the junk yard tomorrow since i cant seem to find the clips that hold my pushbutton cables onto the shifter mechanism. i know as soon as i get some other ones i will find my old ones. i just hope the pushbutton dart is still down at the yard.
 
well if you cant find one of those ground strap clips you can make one out of wire and hose clamps
 
hey guys. i got some more stuff done today. i wish i had a 4 day weekend every week. the only problem is im tired. i didnt really get any rest. i got up at 7 everyday and drove to the bay area to work on my car. today i messed around with my lokar kickdown linkage and got it working smoothly. i also finished hooking up the cooling lines on the tranny. i got new drums today but they look alot different than my old ones. is this just a different style. they still fit. they are just a different shape. i also made a trip to the junkyard and found some misc. little parts i needed. now im ready for bed. gotta go to work tomorrow.

Those finned drums are a bit better than your originals. They will cool a bit better.

yes made in argentina is always better the made in the USA,, ,,as long as every thing fits ,and the car stops, we have to use the junk they suppply us A body guys with
 
Damn, really coming along on this car. Looks awesome. I need to go out and start on doing all of my brakes as well. I have all of the parts, I just need to go out and do it. I think you have givin me some long overdue inspiration. Thanks.

yeah.... we were just talking about that in class tonight. how hard it is to buy anything that is made here. so i told my girl we could do something she wants to do this weekend. but i want to try and break my cam in the weekend after. so i have a lot of work to do to get her ready to fire.

haha. im a lucky man. she doesnt bug me at all. when i told her it was an expensive weekend and i needed to watch my spending, she asked me if i needed any money for car parts. what a keeper hehe.
 
Wow,you better nail her to the floor so she cant get away!!!

My wife is much the same way,and Im a lucky man. She supports my hobbies for the most part. Just objects to spending money on the cop car,lol! But she doesnt like it either.

Im with you there. It's not just the lost jobs that are a concern,it's the lack of quality and longevity that bothers me too. I feel like Im rolling the dice evertime I buy something made in an asian country.

Yet we dont really have a choice as most consumer goods are now made elsewhere.

And no harm done bud!
