1966 Factory V8 Valiant Signet Restoration For My Other Daughter

Are you going to run stock exhaust manifolds? I'm not sure what aluminum heads you have there, but somewhere on FABO another member had to grind some material off of the driver side head to get the manifold to fit. I hope you don't have problems with that. You may want to mock it up to see if it clears. Please let us know how it works out. I'm interested in running aluminum heads when I get there. Also, let us know which heads you have there. Thanks.

Edelbrock.
Had to do that on Toth heads with ‘73 stock manifolds too

Hi Jim WOW I'm looking forward to seeing the Valiant up close & personal this weekend after the car show. The car looks fantastic. I'll have to take some pictures to send to Jorge the previous owner's son. They will be amazed. MAC

Dr Diff with some new custom 8.25" axles to the rescue. The originals one side had some pitting and galling. With the amount I have in this why would you go cheap here. Fixed for as long as I own this car. Don't forget to put locktite on the bolt holding the spyder gears in. Got a lot of the bling back from Capital Metal in Tucson.. They do beautiful work....

Tomorrow going to get the tires balanced and inflated (wide rims on minimal width tires can be tricky to get inflated). 225/60/15 on 8" width 4.5" backspacing rear; 195/60/15 7" width 3.75" backspacing (manual steering). Correct hardware on the shocks and someone has a plethora of A-Bodies...

Vixen still has her place in line.....right? RIGHT? lol

Spent Saturday at a show so did not get a lot done as we are all wiped out today... I realized that the front pillar is open to viewing and it has a lot of overspray so I masked it up and reshot it so it would like nice and slick... just need the metal shop to get the last 2 pieces of trim welded and polished.

What did you do to the seams inside and out?

Appears you blasted them all and epoxied. Is there no need to reapply all the seam sealer like the factory? I am just trying to plan for mine.

SEM Sealer over the epoxy.

how do you buff glass? I have a few pieces that I think might benefit, but not sure what to use.

I just use a wool pad and CSI compound after using a razor blade to get the crap off it. It won't get scratches out.

Make sure to tuck some burlap in the corner to keep the sharp edges from cutting through the cover on the front corners. Tomorrow is seat back day...
