The shifter is not as centered as I thought. Not a problem.
I will cut a block to space the shifter over and foward.it will all be below
The console plate.

It will depend somewhat on the handle. My transmission shifter mount was not straight up and down, but the shifter handle had some bend to it also.

For the paint... I'm kind of partial to the dark green metallic. Mine is not the original GG1, but something close in a modern base coat / clear coat paint.

Here is a nice gallery of a fastback in the original GG1: http://www.jefframin.org/afterResto.shtml

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been waiting to get my motor back from the machine shop. Got my motor back a few weeks ago. Finally got it painted. I've got pictures of everything. Hope to get them posted soon.

It took a while to get the motor done.
It was worth the wait. Vignogna racing built a real nice stroker motor out of my original 318 block.

Once I got it home I spent a day cleaning and smoothing out the block for
Paint. Now that this has turned into a full blown resto-mod, i decided to go alittle crazy on the motor.

Flywheel is bolted up. Had to take 1/4 inch off the flywheel bolts. I ground one bolt to length,
Then I weighed it. Then I ground the next 7 to the same weight as the first. Yes it's a small block with a 8 bolt crank. We used a bigblock crank to stroke the motor.
