just to warn you those chrome pans as they do look great dont seal and leak easly
Thanks for the heads up Tawny, i am aware of the chrome oil pans flaws and like Mark said scuffing it up is one way to help seal it up also if you go back to my last couple posts on page 10 i showed how warped the pan was and how i fixed it..so between the two i think it should be fine.
And if it doesnt work and it leaks i will strap it on my head and use it as a hockey helmet lol. :toothy10::hockey:

The motor is done!
I topped it off with a set of pocket ported 360 J heads with new 1.88/1.60 valves and a new set of Comp valve springs.
I used the factory rockers for now but plan to buy rollers later, also i put an edelbrock intake and holley 750HP carb on as well..lastly the Hooker super comp headers...not the ones i was initialy going to use but a friend dangled them in my face and could not say no to the "bling" haha
I had planned to put the 4-speed in with the motor but Lordco gave me the wrong clutch =( ... oh well. Happy Holidays everyone. Brad.

Nice job Brad......The car looks awesome! I like the rallyes.
Just to back track...the side stripes. No consistency even from the factory.
I have seen many variations as I was restoring my car.

Thank you Wilson,
Yeah i hear yah i remember reading your thread and going through the same thing also...mabe when the car is done i will address it but really not at the top of the list of priorities.

My next priority is finding some wider SBP rallyes for the rear.
It needs a little more "tire" out back for me to be a happy camper.
The tires are 235/60/14 out back but the 14x5.5 rim is just not cutting
it. I am thinking of having someone widen out a rim to 7 inches just to
fill the wheel well out. I like rallyes so a aftermarket rim is not a
option for now.

You can get Wheel Vintiques or other similar brand repro Rallyes in various sizes. I don't know whether it would be cheaper to have someone widen an original or buy new ones, but I'd look into both options.

It would be cheaper to have the rims widened out here locally.
Just the shipping cost and duties, tariffs would make it unfeasible.
I have bought many items from the States over the pass few years
for my 70 Challenger restoration and it is too costly.

Thanks guys, let's just hope i can keep it that clean ;)
Muslca, thats good you found someone too do the rims but just a suggestion to check the availability on the specific 14" tires you are looking for because they dont make alot of them anymore...as far as i know 245/60/14 is the widest ones they make right now..could be wrong tho..

Beautifully done car. One of my best friends had a '71 340 Duster
(new) in the same color scheme but with a black vinyl top. Striking.

Brad: I was thinking of just going to wider rims using the same size tires
that I have on the car now. I think the 235/60/14 TAs can work on
7 inch wide rims.

Hey FABO, i am still waiting on my flywheel to show up..i did not realize that the truck flywheel would not work for me so i had to order a new one to accept my 10.5 clutch otherwise i would have had the Demon running already.
Everything on the motor is hooked up and the oil system is primed ready to go i just need the 4 speed in so i can mount the starter to the bellhousing.
In the meantime i decided to address the proper location of the side stripes..with original car pics that oldmanmopar posted i re-did the stripes but in matte black this time! after doing the sizzler stripe on the hood i did'nt like the contrast of orange, black, white..i really like it better this way.
At least we have some good reference photos now for someone wanting to do a Demon in orange/white.:toothy7:
