Credit card theiving

-
someone tried to use my debit card at walmart in Cedar Hills Texas earlier this week....bank called and they had denied the charge...and is sending me a new card....

Thanks for the link. I just showed it to my wife too. I think I'll post it on my Facebook page also. tmm

And he bought that reader off the internet for less than $100, I had heard this about a year ago and promptly checked my card then, Have been using the protective thing for a long time and know I know why the bank gave it to me LOL.

I think RFID chips should be summarily outlawed and that article is WHY

NONE of my cards of any kind have any RFID crap in' em.

I don't even believe in this new **** where you can leave your car keys in your pocket and drive your car.

(A friend of mine had two vehicles with "smart keys" and had trouble with one of 'em. He'd been to the dealer several times. He's gone now, but was an electronics engineer. One of his work associates asked him, "you have another car?" Suggested take the other key off the same ring. BANG, end of the troubles.)

All of this because people are too lazy to scan their cards and enter a four digit pass code. "Let's make it easier for them and the sheeple will use their credit/debit cards more"

Don't get me wrong, I use my debit card a couple of times a week. But the bank is still making money from the merchant every time it comes out of your pocket.

My aunt had her I.D. Stolen,...cost her a bundle, plus the headaches that go with It,...This might help, I don't have my signature on any of my cards,...instead I write "Ask for ID" on the back of em,...doesn't solve all the probs with cards, but sometimes It does help,...and I thank the cashier when they ask...

Old news. The "investigative" report is just an infomercial for the the idholder sleeve. Like most "news" stories these days.

glad none of my cards have that....i will keep a lookout to insure i dont get any that do...

One day as I joke I decided to do a google search for my credit card number. Sure as sh*t up popped my credit card number, full name, address, and telephone number in a list with 5,000 others that you could download straight off this website! There were dozens of these lists compiled!

The only problem with this tactic is that the card technically isn't valid unless it has a signature on the back of it. Merchants don't have to honor it if there is no signature. My wife got called on this a few years ago. So, she signed her card right in front of the sales lady. Now, we just write "CHECK ID" as big as we can while still leaving a small spot for our signatures. Haven't had any issues since, and yes I also thank someone when they ask to check my ID.

One word for you guys CASH it's amazing stuff you can actually use it to buy stuff and it's quicker at the check out than cards and pin codes .

They don't steal your card just the information on the chip which lets them make a new card with your named signed by them on it if they are dumb enough to make in person purchase's , most just empty your daily limit from cash machines until the card is voided ,example 50 cards scanned in a day times 400+ in daily limit means they can stand at a bank of ATMs and grab 20k+ if there's enough money in the machines and when you report and your info is no longer any good they reprogram the card with new info stolen that day and keep going .
