Losing weight

-
If I wasn't so damn old I would sell my house, shop, and 2 acres and buy a level 3/4 acre lot. I would build a shop and live in it and live happily ever after. All I need is room for my two cats (Hemi and Propane) a wall for a 60 inch TV, shower, microwave, bedroom, and a lazy boy recliner.

Can we see some more pics of your car. Engine bay ,interior etc ?

I really don’t have any inside pictures but I did buy some lightweight carpet and almost have that job finished. Besides that it’s an 8.50’cert mild steel
Cage. Here are a few front end shots.

I live in the Country so my cats are city drop-offs that were either abused or unloved. It usually takes me several weeks of throwing out chicken wings, pizza, steak bones, and then water and Meow Mix for them to trust me. Hemi was easy because he was orange. Propane would come and eat and hide behind my propane grill when I went to the window. I brought them both in Hemi 6 years ago, Propane 1 1/2 years ago because I have a Hawk on my property. I have stayed at 2 but honestly as much as I love them I could have 10. They go to the races with me in the motorhome on long weekends. I almost took in another one ( Twilight because he always came to eat after midnight) but just as he was getting friendly disappeared.

I sure like that hoist. In my favorites.......will own one of then someday.

Bumpers and the tank like brackets are very heavy. forgot to mention those.

I painted mine, but I have read that you can have them chromed.

There is a guy on this forum that makes some really nice lightweight
Aluminum bumper brackets. Lingenfelter I think is his name.
I bought a set for my dart off him. Really nicely made any very light.

Chrome wrap scratches very easily.

I've looked into having them chromed. I ended up painting them because it saved me some money and I liked the way it looked anyway but it is possible.

Where did you find lightweight carpeting and what is different about it that makes it lightweight.

Probably because it is cheap carpet. aka no sounding deadening or insolation. Thin carpet that don't weigh much.

When I decided to put a lift in my garage, I looked at all different styles, and thought about what I needed. I have a fairly low ceiling and limited space. I wanted my garage to also be a man cave of sorts with 55" inch tv etc. imho all lift styles have pros and cons too them.
I chose mine because when not in use it was completely out of the way when not in use. If necessary it had the ability to raise only one pad. This allows it to be another workbench or a serving table with a table cloth over it. Or you could work on your lawn mower with it elevated. But in use it has some limitations. But I could live with those. But as you get older any lift is better than no lift at all. I am surprised at the amount of jobs where I just wanted the car say 1 foot off the ground so I am not hunched over. Even with an 8.5 foot garage I can still get the wheels at chest height without hitting the ceiling, and can get under the car completely on a rolling creeper seat. Just an FYI for you to think about.

Maybe you can order a molded carpet without any backing from auto custom carpets. That would cut the weight.
