lol.

the shields are the parts that weren't repopped until recently.. nice to see they are making everything for them.. not cheap though..

Yep, stacks cost almost what the truck is worth!

I can pick up a 78 Warlock factory 4 speed truck for under $1000, missing motor.

I have a good running 318 with 4 bbl to drop in and know where a Ramcharger with a 4 speed is.

I thought about putting stacks on it, but after researching values and selling prices, the running motor and stacks would be worth more by themselves than the completed truck!

Too bad, it would have been neat.

There's a guy at work that has generic aftermarket stacks on an f250.
It actually looks pretty good.

Maybe a truck supply place would have something similar.

The stacks were the reason I didn't buy a LRE back in 78. The wife and I test drove one, getting out of the truck after the test drive, she burned her hand on the stack. We had a 5 years old boy at the time, and were planning on more kids. I could imagine one of them touching one of those stack while the truck is in the drive way after a drive.

It took about 5 seconds to make the decision to buy a Warlock, instead. That's what we did. Back then we had (my car) a 71 Swinger, (Joyce's car) a 72 Fury III Wagon, (our "Rec. vehicle") a 76 B200 Tradesman van, and (my new toy) the 78 Warlock.
We were "livin'"!

No. He was retired. He died about 3 or 4 years ago. He lived in Gray. He was the guy that had all the Warlocks, LREs, Midnight Expresses, Petty Kit Cars, Aspen R/Ts, Super Coupes and such. He had a pile of them. If it was a late 70s MoPar and rare, he had it. I worked on several for him. He was a super cool guy.

I didn't know him, but I do remember the cars. What happened to the collection after he passed?

You would absolutely not believe it. THE day after he died, they were all being loaded onto trailers and semis. It was the biggest traffic jam Gray has ever seen. It was really weird. Almost premeditated. He had been in bad shape for a while with a stroke and his family was already arguing over everything so I am sure they had an exit plan. I was actually supposed to end up with the Petty Car, but his family had other plans. I just backed off. He was too nice a guy to make a big deal about it. It was a cool car though. It was the street version made from the Aspen R/T. Blue on blue with all the numbers on the door and the hood. Fender flairs, windshield hold downs. It was extremely original. I've often wondered where they all are.

whats a Midnight Express ? pics ?

From people I talked to when I had my ill red, the midnight express were basically black warlocks that dealers installed the stacks, wood and decals on.. 360 was the only option for a LRE but a warlock you cold get anything up to a 440 in. If that info was correct I don't know but that's what I was told...

Midnight express was essentially a black LRE, with a different door decal. great looking trucks, too.

See? They are so rare even MoPar people don't know about um. lol ......and you know, a LOT of people will argue you down that the Warlocks only came in black like the Midnight Express. There were several Warlock colors. I think the green was the most rare.

There are three green ones within 50 miles of my house.

1 is a 4x4.

1 is in a JY and it's all there and really solid :(

i don't know about that.... a LRE is a specific package.. EH1 360 motor, factory shift improver kit in the 727 and a 3.55 open 9 1/4 rear. int there were only a couple options.. red or black bench and black (not sure if you could get it in red also) bucket seats and a/c. thats about it.. the midnight i believe you could get with any motor.. the one i saw years ago that was supposed to be original and real had a 440. i talked with the owner for quite awhile about it.... did he know what he was talking about? who knows.. he seemed legit though...

i do agree riding down the road it looks like a black LRE with a different door sticker..

oh man.,. i have seen black, green, an orange type of color and adarker red kinda maroon color warlock.. they came in 2x4 and 4x4 also..

The black one look exactly like my old Warlock, (or "Warlack" as the Chevy guys used to call it), lol. It had an emasculated 1978 440/4spd, Dana axles as I recall, too. Sold it back in 1986... Bad decision.
