Need opinions on this Demon for $25k

Men didn't go to the moon cause it was available.. they went because they wanted it. This silver platter mentality on a poor man's budget with 0 sweat equity has gotten you how far? You claim to have a farm, house, cars, wife prolly dogs cats squirrels ect. You've owned every automobile ever made, worked on models never produced before. But your 2 biggest hang ups are having ac and power steering? They never made em, hell you can't even find parts for them much less retro fit kits or anything. It's best to just hire a driver
Uber/Lyft but will complain they should send a Limo

Checks EVERY box., PS, AC, PB, V8, Auto, needs nothing ready to drive or show. 20k or best offer. Offer 18k and then use the other 2k to have it delivered to your front door.
1975 Dodge Dart
No matter WHAT you are doing, stop and send message. Even if you are doing CPR on somebody, stop and message them. NOW LOL
that is a nice Dart,,,,The last year made is very hard to find. nice color too!
sorry, almost last year!

So did u pick the best or the worst or middle of the road? Kim
Didn't pick up any. I didn't know if they were out there, what condition, or what the asking prices could be.
I was surprised to see so many for sale, some reasonable, if I was looking, and some more than I could ever afford.

Low and behold, I stumbled upon a Demon Sizzler I didn't know existed but was way cool.

This car is probably a '71 Demon Sizzler, so that hood would belong to it.
The Sizzlers with high impact colors came with body colored grilles.
Mine is F7 green so the grille is standard.
If it has A59 on the fender tag and it matches the other numbers on the car, it's legit.
That's too cool.
Today, trying to educate myself on the various early 70s a-bodies, I took a bunch of pics of Demons, Dart Sports, Dusters, Gold Duster, Duster 340, Valiant Duster, Valiant Duster 340, Duster Twister.

And don't forget the Demon Sizzler with the body colored grill!

BTW, love the hoods, especially the 340 Wedge.

Wow, 11 days and 8 pages to answer a simple question. OK fine!!! I understand why the OP has decided to pass on this car, but the amount of questionable information given to him is mind boggling. The retail value of these cars moves around more than a belly dancer! The time of year, how close to an auction, what movie just came out, the car's color, engine size, drive train, bucket seats, personal connections, inventory, and on and on. I bring these cars back to life, because that is my passion. Do I make money at it, not really, when you count the hours invested. I am happy as long as I don't lose money. My wife, not so much. I usually sell way too cheap. My cars are like new: Paint striped, epoxy primed, body damage repaired or replaced, BC/CC, engines rebuilt (heads, cam, rings, bearings, water pump, oil pump, carb, and on and on), new or rebuilt seats, new carpet, and on and ..... you get the idea. They end up as close to factory as I can get them, right down to the factory decals. That being said, the market will only support a certain price point. Once there, all the little/big extras will not push the needle very much, it is just money being thrown away for pride in workmanship. I don't put a value on a car based on some photos as I have driven too many hours to look at absolute crap that looked pretty good in the pics. I can, however, give a price range based on my experiences in the market in general. Some may not agree, for one reason or another, but this is my opinion so here it is. This car, based on the market, availability, and "average" condition would be 20-22K in my opinion. And yes, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one; but the days of buying this car for under 20K have gone the way of the dodo.

Looks like I won't be able to afford to replace my old bomb. Guess I plan to hang on to her till I move on to streets of Gold, not just Gold wheels... LOL

It's why I love 318 cars. A guy doesn't have to give an arm and leg for one, and can make it anyway he pleases without worrying about messing up the museum.
This right here is how I was able to find the 68 Dart that I ended up buying. I wanted a 340 (or any small block) 4spd car..being a 318/904 originally, price was easily 40%-50% less than a GTS would have been in the same shape. I don’t think the 318 with a BBD market will spike any time soon, or ever :p

All you make is mistakes Dan.

Time to join the current century already in progress. A decade ago maybe, not now.

Again, slant 6 clones have brought upwards of $60k at auction. Granted, far nicer cars than the ones shown here. When I bought my Duster the top of the market for the most beautiful dusters and demons, real 340 cars, was $60k. Now it’s north of $150k.
This might of been true two years ago, but the way the classic car market is going as of now I’m doubting it. That covid price jump is over now, I’m seeing if first hand on Craigslist and offer up. Everyone is dumping their high prices.

No- it was true last year, because that was when that auction was. The pink '70 Duster in the first row at $61,600 is a /6 to 340 clone. The '71 in the second row is a real deal 340 4 speed.

Is it true at this exact moment? Who knows. It does seem as though the market has softened some, but you don't need the top of the market for a clone to be in the $60k range for the original car in this thread to be in the $20-$25k range. The investors in this game aren't having money troubles, so the high end is unlikely to change much. The regular folks are a different thing, so the middle may not be moving as much volume and people may have to cut prices if they have to move something fast. What something is worth to someone is always a moving target.

Are there better deals out there to be had? I'm sure there are. Are there worse deals out there? Absolutely. There are a lot of "lipstick on a pig" builds in that price range, lots of cars with shiny paint hiding an inch of bondo. The middle of the market is probably the worst spot to be looking, they will all have issues of one kind or another, and if you concede the wrong "issue" you can end up with a really expensive project and a car that won't do what you wanted to do with it.

But even then, there are not an unlimited number of these cars around. If the car you want comes up, well, sometimes it's worth paying "too much" for a given condition to get the car you want at the time that you want it.
