Hello love the car. Is that a factory wheel well mini tub? I Just finish my Mini tub.
How tight frame rail to wheel well lip? I am wanting to run the same tire.

Yes just mini tubbed to the frame rails with the factory tubs widened 3”. There’s about 3/4” clearance or so to the frame rail. The real problem comes in when you lower it. You need an after market wheel tub that’s just a touch longer to fit the tall tires.

Awesome thanks. Love the way it fills the wheel tub. Did you move the axle back?

One more. What springs are you using?

Rears are 225/70/15 on 15X 7 Super Sports 1" adapters with a little surgery on the fender
Fronts are 205/70/14 on 14X6 Super Sports with Right StuffDetailing front discs and no modification ( cant use stick on wheel weights)

Rears: 15 x 8 Basset D-holes with 4.50" Backspacing with a 255/60/15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT
Fronts: 15 x 7 Aero race wheels with 4" Backspacing with a 235/60/15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT
The fronts run a little bit on the fender so I'm going to have to trim it a bit but the backs for nicely, the fender lip was already rolled but I'm not sure that it would have to have been. The extra clearance is nice regardless though.

**Little side note, the trailer park style window should be gone by the new year! Was finally able to find one on eBay because apparently no one makes new ones.

Finally got my “new to me” wheels mounted up today. 17x10 275/40 in the rear, 17x8 255/40 in the front

Rear
Bf Goodrich comp2 245/45/17
Torque thrust 17x8
With 27mm offset which is a 5.62" backspace.

Overall tire and rim height 25.68"
Tire width 9.64"
Keep in mind a 8" wide rim uses its outside edge to outside edge measurement of 9 inches to calculate offset or backspace.
I
Ive test fit one rim and tire setup on all four
Corners of my car. The front fit fine with plenty of room all around.
The rear fit good, a hair tight near the leaf springs. They will never rub
I only needed a 3/4" offset . I had to go with the 27mm/1" offset to stay
Away from the more expensive 2 pice rims.
I also had wanted the 18x8 rims but they were not
Available in a offset I could use.

hi kbsouers,
your combo looks good! (on my '68 b-cuda) I was thinking using 245/45/17's or 255/45/17's on a 17 x 8" (all 4), with 5" back space(most back space offered on this wheel). pretty much same brakes you have too. (Dr. Diff 11.75" disc fronts & 10.70" rear disc, 5x4.5 axles)
does it look to you that if you added a 5/8" (.62) spacer, (in other words moved things outward on your set up) that you might have fender clearance issues?

Thanks!
Dan

1969 Barracuda
Drum brakes all around, factory 8 3/4 rear (not sure what year the rear is though)
Fronts 15x6 4" backspacing with 205/70R15
Rear 15x8 4 1/2" backspacing with 275/60R15

Fronts were a little close during turning (approx 1/4" between tire and bottom of fender so I rolled the bottom 2" of the inside lip to get 1/2" clearance). If I had to do over again I'd went with a 215/65R15 tire.

Rears had to had a 1/4" spacer to get 1/2" space between tire and leaf spring.
