Stop in for a cup of coffee

Also. The OP is older than me and the old Brigs & Tucumseh's I have from my family were from back when the owners book says non-detergent oil. I dunno how old his engine is but dumping some new high detergent oil in there will loosen a bunch of stuff. It will need a short oil change interval. Probably a couple. Oh well.
A few bottles of Sea Foam will clear that up

I figured a manual reel mower.

Had one of those for a while when I was renting and moving around a lot with the military. Small yards, and don't have to worry about draining anything when you move.
And what type of ooil did you use?
LOL

Thats why I said, eat what you want!

Well time to let someone else do my talking.
Paint job doesnt look to bad at 20'

That's what I picked up on there.

So far so good with the rider. 3rd season...strictly 0-E fuel and Sta-bil at the end of the season. Not to mention 30W mower oil ( )

First start, easy-peasy. Single turn of the key.

I've been reading through Tom Hand's book, the ATSG manual and j-par's 904 rebuild thread... Be nice to get that thing cleaned up from the stupid harassment throughout, but OK.

I think I have all the "tools" minus the homemade stuff that he used. I think I'm going to go with the threaded rod mount onto the engine stand. Seems handy to be able to rotate it around as needed.

A newly divorced gal moved in across the road from me yrs ago. She bought a new push mower and seized it up first cutting. So any oil is better than no oil
  You do have to be smarter than the dipstick!:rofl: I can see "her' not knowing, but a guy building a stock car should have some idea of what oil to put in a lawn mower. I guess not.

 Within a degree or 2, it has been the same temp since 5 PM yesterday afternoon. Only sposed to go up about 10° from where it is now for our high today :realcrazy:. No wind though, very unusual for this time of year.

I almost exclusively cook dinner on the grill, all weather.

I like my dishes to look like this at the end of the day

I realize that a lot of what I do is less about a diet or anything, it's based upon simplicity and being a little lazy

Morning coffee is far more complex....

So, lots of oil talks today. I had a long talk with an oils engineer here at work. He even sits on the board at SAE. Seems the sludge and metallic garbage may have been because I used Shell Rotella T. Diesel oil has much more detergent and dispursents in it. Likely cleaned ut up. Filter is clean.

I see a lot of racers that use rotella i figured it was cause it's cheap... methanol guys that change oil every race though

And Rotella is supposed to have enough ZDDP for flat tappet cams to live.
