I never said torque was king. All I said was 318s were used as Marine Engines by Chrysler Marine Division and marine engines need torque, to do the job, as acceleration from a stop means the engine is using torque to push itself out of the water, as water is more dense than air, and rolling resistance much less, plus aero drag is much less than water drag. I didn't spell it out like this, but most on here have enough experience to understand what I said.
Turk seemed to lack that understanding, but I know better, as he does understand much more difficult concepts, so it seemed like he was just flapping his lips to make an unnecessary comment.
Somtimes the basics are overlooked here but not everyone on these sites knows it all & basics can help their understanding.
