What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Nice long Friday morning drive. ...beautiful morning for it!
All by my lonesome. ....just the way I like it!
Gonna re-detail the engine compartment this weekend. ..it's not bad, gonna keep it that way!

Still waiting to get out and test out my new headlights. The weather has been quite funky here. Been overcast and raining for like two weeks, actually had our first snow a couple days ago. I'm starting to think I live in Seattle, not Lyons CO.
Soon as things dry up and the sun comes back out, I'll be driving her again.

Installed and started my new Eddy AVS2 carburetor, started the car and set the idle and mixture screws. Still have to test drive the car so I don't know how things will work out but indicators are good. I'm impressed with the whole install so far.

Now that we got some rain !!!!!!!!! Just added a 1/2 quart of engine oil and out for a nice drive in the rain... Oh and a few burnouts !!! ....lol

Rain.....ugh!
My car isn't a daily driver and sees no rain unless it MUST....
So it's high and dry in my garage.

Blasted the Black spray bomb paint from under the hood . While at it did the fenders and hood. Amazed how rust free it is. Almost makes me want to keep it but it has to go.

I Need the money for my other Duster. Interior and body are near perfect. 318 with a 904 trans in it now. I sold the 408 and 727.Its a Race car from the 70's. They never finished the cage . Been sitting inside heated Jersey garage since the 80's. I have two bodies like this. The other is even nicer so I am keeping that one. I have a friend who wants the car when its done.

Oh yeah that is the new Pup "Duster" in training with the old guy, "Bullit"

Several friends and I traveled the coast line of Michigan's Thumb today. We ended up at Ubly dragway as spectators. Left at 7:30 this morning got home about 7:30 this evening totaling ~250 miles. Awesome day with great friends.

And it was chilly, so Steve allowed us to warm our hands as we worshiped TorqZilla.

I'd like to know where those beautiful blue anodized big-block (512) valve covers came from. Wondering if they make 'em for small-blocks?

Went to a local car show yesterday called Pumpkinfest. Tons of cars showed up, kinda the last gasp for the season here. One pic of mine and another interesting Barracuda.

Never knew would be so hard to put wide tires, haha
5in shorter than stock a body rear. 2.5 each side.

Hey all,

My buddy Steve replied:

"My valve covers are made by APC and are plain cast aluminum that I powder coated to match my car. They are available for small blocks.. You can also get them with machined grooves in them too... I'll sell the big block polished ones with the orange grooved stripes in them if anyone is interested.. $100"

Let me know, I'll get you in touch with Steve.

@63spf

Please share how and what you did there with your front spring eye.

That looks like just the solution I need.

Thank you for your time.

I unbolted the front spring hanger . Cut it and shaped it to fit inside the frame rail . Cut the frame just enough to install and weld it up.
Rear I drilled a hole and welded a sleeve.
All I can say is measure twice and cut once. Ha ha, Whole job took me about 30 hrs. to complete. But that's also changing over the 3rd member , backing plates ,brakes and drums. Not to mention, New axle seals, long studs, Etc. etc. etc.

Any pics of the front hangar before you welded it in and after cutting it?

I'm moving my springs under the frame and dont wanna add any height so this really interests me.
