I'm building a 360 la have a forged scat 3.58" scat ibeam rods and Keith black 107 Pistons what balancer would you guy recommend
Im going to play around mostly on the street maybe take it too the track once and a while I not going to buzz it any higher than 6500rpm to start off
did you balance internally or externally? If you went through all the trouble to assemble that, Pretty sure you internally balanced it. I like the Summit SUM-C4277

There is one for sale in parts
Never heard of them but will have a look thanksFor my 360 recently bought a powerbond race unit. 20% off from autozone. Looks much like stock but is sfi approved and has a lock to prevent outer shell from coming out. Forged hub. Nice looking piece. Believe made in Australia.
Never heard of them but will have a look thanks
Thanks Divenut I will look into that as well only need a few more bits and pieces and I will be off to the races can't waitHey Rodsaknockin,
I went with this one for my internally balance 340. Only been about a year, but I am happy with it. Was reasonably priced as well.

What spun on them? Is the mass ring captive on the hub or did the bond fail? Who knew......Sorry but those are total CRAP (small block). My Son and I both had one spin and had to scrap them. Never again.
They are junk.. lasted me a couple months and slipped the outer ring... Same with the non SFI professional products, except the non sfi actually came apart. Here you go. Summit. $180.99

These Professional Products SFI Spec PowerForce Plus dampers provide more applications for a wider range of engines. All Professional Products PowerForce Plus dampers feature a bonding process, which adheres the elastomer to the i.d. of the inertia ring and the o.d. of the hub. Through subsequent research and development, Professional Products has perfected a new process that utilizes a stronger adhesive, along with an improved elastomer, to create a much stronger bond. Professional Products dampers all feature clear, white, easy-to-read timing marks against a painted black background. In addition, they engrave a mark every 90 degrees, which is also painted white (90 degree marks are not on small block Ford dampers). You won't find any dampers that are more accurately balanced or more closely machined for the correct fit than the Powerforce or Powerforce Plus line of high performance street or SFI Spec racing harmonic dampers.
Haven't decided yet just reading about some of them I will check out this one you have mentioned. ThanksHey rodsaknokin so which balancer have you considered? I just remembered that there is another type/brand I considered and is a quality piece. Romac is the name. 0218-cw is the Romac part #. Check it out!
Cool! I personally don't like the ones that have a weight bolted behind. Seems to me sketchy. I perfer with weight removed like stock style. Which is the style of the ones I mentioned. Just something to think about.Haven't decided yet just reading about some of them I will check out this one you have mentioned. Thanks
I do agree with that less parts the idea is cool for sure and at some point you need it on a different engine combo you have the spare parts to get moving .Cool! Hey T56, how are you using these dampers? Circle track or ?? Peka RPM's? You seem to be a good 'test bed' for them...They are junk.. lasted me a couple months and slipped the outer ring... Same with the non SFI professional products, except the non sfi actually came apart.
ATI balancers are awesome, but expensive
Fluidampr Expensive, but awesome
Right now I have a trickflow Trackmax SFI Balancer, engine is still new but so far it's ok. We'll see how it does come racing season.
Simple street\strip duty 6300rpm peak.Hey T56, how are you using these dampers? Circle track or ?? Peka RPM's? You seem to be a good 'test bed' for them...
