Proper stud knurl diameter for factory 8.75 axles?

I remember last time I bought a set of studs they weren't quite large enough. I'm not near my calipers or an axle to measure but want to order ASAP. I was thinking .685 for some reason... Anyone have a good answer? It is a 69 B body axle.

I recently was asked to make a vehicle run properly. It had some carb issues but also a serious ignition problem as well. Check your ROTOR PHASING! It seems to be vacuum advance models with this particular problem. Apparently at least some of these are assembled with the wrong parts. The...

    Crate engine cam timing off?

I am working on a friends 68 Barracuda with a Jegs 408 magum with a 274/474 cam. It sounds pretty salty but is an under performer. It been to a couple of shops and they haven't figured it out. Aside from it having a loud rattle in the heads, to get it to run decent the timing shows 45 degrees...

Competent Shop in El Paso for Subaru work?

My sister-in law needs help with either repair or an engine swap on her 2002 Outback. I have found several decent buys on engines for less that what one shop quoted her for one head, water pump and timing chain. $2900 seems a bit much when I can get a reman or fresh engine for almost half that...

    Elevator Progress

I finally got it sorted out in my head and laid out some metal. I spent most of my long weekend fabbing parts, drilling holes and welding but the basic trolley is up and running. All I need to do now is add the fold down platform and a few reinforcement braces.

Brand X cars thet flip your switch....

How not to kill your Torqueflite transmission!

While answering a post a minute ago I was reminded how I learned the hard way about killing an otherwise good 727 one cold winter morning when I was a teen back in the 70s. We had an very good running 383 HP in a 70 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon. I fired it up that morning and let it run...

    Affordable Shift Boot Solution!

I was tired of the over priced low quality re-pop shift boots out there for the A-body. Mine disintegrated way too fast. I happened to have a spare B body bezel which is slightly larger than the A body unit but doesn't require the sub-retainer and trim ring. So I did some measuring and came up...

Dealership Parts Guys ADP-CDK software rant

So, how many of you have used or are using a version of ADP (another damn problem) or the rehash CDK (computer deserves kicking) software. It has crazy issues with inventory maintenance. What a way to start the day!

So I decide to drive the 75 Dart to work this morning just to keep the battery charged and row through the gears.... About 2 miles away I'm going over a railroad bridge under construction on the south loop and hear a "kaching" almost like an M-1 Garand clip. About 2 seconds later the whole car...

318 Carb and adaptation to Slant pic

    Blower Motor and Resistor Upgrades?

    My Co-pilot... ruh-roh!

My 2 year old rescue dog has slowly been getting used to riding in cars. Usually it was to go to the Vet or the kennel so she wasn't a big fan. I've been using Jeep components on my Dart Sport's hydraulic clutch system with no issues. At the time I did the conversion I didn't have my new shop or lift so I "settled" for an OK system. Anyone own Eastwood welder-spool gun combo?

I had to replace my MAC 110 wire welder several years ago. It was an excellent machine and welded aluminum very well.
