i was told i need a battery cut off switch in my car to race at the track, because my batteries in trunk and faster than 11.99 , how do i hook it up? cant just be a cut off to battery that seems to easy and car would still stay running off of alt?

i thought so to so i put my moms cheap little battery in car and after a awhile still starts

i bought a yellow top is was great had in my valiant, and in my avenger ,and it was fine, but when i let it sit for a couple mths my battery was always dead when i went to start the car, now it wont keep a charge, asked the local stereo guy i bought it from and he said it's because i let it sit...

the 3 motomaster batteries were crap i bought 1 it went in 2 mths they gave me another 1 on warranty and it went 1 year later, then my buddy gave me his motomaster eliminator battery and it was junk, had car looked at by someone cuz i couldn't find anything and they determined it was a bad line...

i just finished putting in the painless wiring kit into my valiant, i kept my old harness and all the wires just in case i needed them, i used a couple things from the old wiring, i suggest getting the kit made directly for dodge, i got the universal #50002 kit it was awesome just had to spend...

thanks for the compliments, the car has been in the family for over 20 years now, started out as 440 then to 400 and finally the 69 383 with 20,000 original miles engine, the hood scoop in a six pack scoop on a stock hood, and yes the car is pretty hairy at times . good luck on your project...

the best thing i did was bought a painless wiring kit thier really good, i had a 6 in my valiant and the previous owner hacked up the 6 cylinder harness to make the v8's work, well it was nothing but trouble till i bought the kit, the orange box will work and you should get a voltage regulator also

Does any one know where on back of car can you locate it? i dont want some big switch drilled through the back of my car.

i just installed the circuit race car kit # 50002, in a 68 valiant 383bb if you have any questions its all fresh in my mind just finished 2 days ago

i think i know the problem now i just have to add the alt exciter wire from the kit to one of the fields on the alt, iam going to try that ill post my results thanks for the help

does anyone know what the alternator exciter wire on a painless kit is for? its the only thing i have not hooked up in the kit so i suspect thats why. 68 plymouth 12 circuit kit

i need to see what wires are what, on my valiant to hook up new painless wiring kit, does anyone have wiring diagram or know what colors and wires are what? eg, signals, brake lights?

thanks to everyone for you reply, most of the kit i understand, its just the wires coming out of steering column and i need to hook up fuel level in instrument panel , i got the 12 circuit pro kit 50002 and made my own switch panel, this kit is amazing tho it comes with almost everything i need...

my 68 valiant has bad wiring problems from a previous owner hacking 6 cylinder harness to shreads so iam installing a 12 circuit pro, part #50002painless wiring kit ,has anybody else done a similiar install ?
