Good updated info on an old thread. FABO rocks! I wonder if cr.dave got his worked out. With only a couple post im guessin not.

After sitting for a year I had crud built up in my carter fuel pump so it wasn't pumping. Pulled it and cleaned out the inside and it works like a charm. I noticed a piece of black foam inside and thought WTH. After taking apart an extra Carter pump I found out the piece of foam belongs in there.

It depends on your needs Oldfish65. How fast do you want to go? The 273 is a high rever and is no slouch. Its no 340 but I have out run 318s with mine. I went from a 2 to a 4 barrel on mine and she is a tire fryer. Especially if this car only has 19k on her. But its your car and you should be...

My 340 powered Swinger stops just fine with 4 drums. If your car won't stop you need a brake job. My brakes work great and stop in plenty of time. JMO. Sure discs are better but with what you are doing not necessary. Oh yeah, nice car!
