1963 Valiant V200 Wagon

well i got the floors painted today, im still cleaning the underside to get them ready for paint. i got tired of laying in the driveway today, so i started working on a plate that will hold my fan and fuel pump switch, as well as my line loc button. i still need to purchase a button for the line loc though. oh and what better way to end a day of working on the car than grilling up some burgers and having a couple beers.

well i got some more work done, i spent a few days laying under the car sanding down the floors, then sprayed them with por-15 metal prep. i got almost all the surface rust off and then por-15 the floors. i also picked up some 1 1/2 x 3 rectangular tubing to make my subframe connectors. its coming slowly coming together.

hey alan,

are you talking about the rear floor pans, if so autobodyspecialist has them now for early a bodies. i dont think they are different than sedans.

So they make rear floor pans for Early A Body sedans as well as the Barracudas now? Just wanted to clarify

*Edit* I found them!
Thanks

Alan

Hey Slantscamp

Can I get the part number of your voltage regulator and grounding bar.

Thanks
Bear

Sweet Ride. Wagons make the coolest drag cars. What type of power can you expect from a slant 6 with a blower?

hey bear, the voltage regulator is from mancini racing, i cant remember what the part number was, and the ground bar was just something i picked up from a vendor at a swap meet.

well i havent got much done on the wagon lately. my buddy that is working on the engine just had his mom pass away. so he is having to deal with all that. and the weather has not been cooperating around here. i did score some body panels last week for it. thanks to 64dartwagon, i now have replacement quarters for my wagon. i have been bugging him about these panels for the last couple years. the only problem is now im running out of room in the garage. i guess i better start fixing some rust.

No worries. Thanks for the response. I in the process of wiring the back of the dash right. I am using ezwiring after market kit. Did you have any issue with the main dash wire bundle?

the only problem i had was wires being too short because i put my fuse box in the glove box. other than that it was pretty straight forward. it just took me a while to figure out how i wanted to run everything and gathering up all the connectors and such.

well my frame connectors are almost ready. i just need to finish welding them and put them in.

well the subframe connectors are about 75% welded in. i ran out of gas for the welder. i will have to run to the store next week and get the tank refilled. i also added some gussets for strength, since im new at this welding thing. but a buddy came over today and looked at what i had done and said it looked good. man what a pain in the *** laying under a car welding. i leveled the car out in the driveway with jackstands under the framerails. one thing that i noticed was when i had the car leveled out, the front left frame rail was sitting about an 1/8th inch about the jack. but the car was level. i guess theres no sag in this old girl. once i finish welding these in, i can put the fuel line and tank back in, then install my electric fuel pump. its slowly getting there.

wow. its been a while since ive posted any progress on the wagon. truth is, i havent made any. i gave my engine to a buddy back in november. he said he would make the adapter plate for me for the blower. but as with life things came up and it took him a little longer. i ended up talking to him in january, he told me he hadnt gotten to work on it. but he would get on it the next week. i told him it wasnt a big rush because i didnt have the money to buy all the other little items i needed. like the wideband, new carb etc. so before i knew it, april was here and i hadent heard from him. so i emailed him and told him i would be by last weekend to pick it up. i worded it nicely. i just told him i needed a project to work on so i figured i would do it myself. but he got a little wierd, telling me about how i told him i wasnt in a big rush. i guess 6 months to make a adapter is a big rush. but anyways, my engine is back home. i have undone what he did and am starting over from scratch. he had three adapters put together to get the correct angle. so i would have had 4 gaskets and the whole blower would have been sticking out of the hood. so i will redo that with a 1" thick alluminum plate that i will have milled down for the correct angle. im also a little bummed because he scratched up my custom made pulleys that i had anodized black, then he spray painted them black to hide the scratches. i will keep you guys posted as i get some work done. the plate should be in monday.

well i got a bunch done today on the blower. i figured out that i have enough material to mill the intake. then i figured out how much needs to be milled off. it came out to 5/32". this will give my blower pulley the same angle as the crankshaft pulley. i also mocked up the belt routing and figured out where im going to mount the tensioner. i cut the old bracket off the tensioner and will make a new bracket and weld it on.

well i got a lot done on the engine this weekend. during the week i got the intake milled down to get the right angle. today i finished drilling and tapping holes in the alluminum plate. i was stressing because it costs a lot for the plate. so i just measured everything a million times. now i just need to make a bracket to hold the tensioner. i will work on this during the week. enjoy the pictures.
