Quick update on the door striker repairs. Everything is Ground down smooth and skim coat of filler roughed in. Put some self etching primer to protect till it's time to paint.

This week/weekends been nutz.. but i was able to get the spot under the battery cut out and good used metal welded in. Here it is after smoothing and a rough coat of filler.
Been covered up with other projects this week I haven't had much time to work on my duster.. My car was a factory ac car and blower motor hole was covered with a block off plate from previous owner. After much research I found out the steps needed to convert to heater only. 1st step was completely filling in hole, my 68 fury parts car gifted me a piece of metal suitable for such a task. Here it is tacked in, it's been buzzed in and ground smooth so far.

Today's episode of what the hell is Big J working on is doors. I found a very nice used door and had it shipped to me. Needless to say seller didn't pack it real well so it came with a few non factory creases. I gently dolly and hammered most of it out. It's not perfect still a bit to go, but it's one hellova lot better than it was.

Been plugging away on the firewall repairs. My duster was originally a factory ac car. It had block off plates very crudly installed with pop rivets and no ac parts as shown in pics. I was able to source a very nice heater box. I finished welding in ac blower motor hole and evap line holes. Also got all the holes from pop rivets filled in. I was able to get a good heater only firewall cutoff i used as a template. Here's the firewall currently with the heater only blower motor holes cut and stud holes drilled. Just a few more steps and the firewall will be ready for paint.

Just came across your post. I’m restoring a 70 Duster as well so you definitely have my attention! Doing one thing every day moves the project forward regardless how insignificant it may seem. It maintains momentum
Today's episode of what the hell is Big J working on is... I pulled the windshield to work on cowl, and A pillar on drivers side. Here's a few pics of the A pillar and a few fitting up the good used pieces. Stay tuned.

Almost got the A pillar lower section in. Just need to clean it up.
On a surprise Sunday episode of what the hell is big J working on.. i finished trimming the A pillar upper section and got it tacked in, little more to go and I'll grind stay tuned.

Just found your resto thread and spent half the morning catching up. Kudos to you, looking really good! Man, do you have your work cut out for you though! It's amazing how far you've come along with it. You have way more guts than I do!

Quick update/recap on what I started with and what it looks like now on the Drivers A pillar and Drivers side lower windshield corner rebuild/replacement. I fought and fought to save the lower inner dash corner that also covers the windshield channel inside lip, but it was just to thin to be savable. Lower a pillar repaired, and inner dash piece replaced both with good used metal. Still a bit more smoothing left and some touch up on the welds.. Very happy I have a solid a pillar/windshield corner again. Stay tuned

Today's episode of what the hell is Big J working on is Cowl Panel repairs. Here's the before and after of the original cowl section removed. While I could have just trimmed back the rear lip and sectioned it in the panel had so much debris under even after cleaning it out several times it still had what was pictured.. Factory never painted the underside I'll be treating and painting while there. Stay tuned

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Also looks like you have things under control. Are you replacing the cowl panel or just repairing?
