David Vizard weighs in on UTG vs Dulcich wrist pin debate/challenge

We used to flip them if we did a rebuild using old pistons . But who knows if it made enough difference to notice . Like Dulsich said ... hipo pistons won't be offset so its a moot point .
I always assumed the reason to do it was to increase compression a tad .
 
I try to watch David Vizards vids but he never gets around to saying anything !
Much like Nick.... and I like Nicks personality but I don't want to spend 45 minutes watching 15 minutes worth of info . And he jumps from subject to subject .
 
David Vs YouTube channel gets very little views compared to UTG, a while back UTG, david vizard, and unity motorsports garage sorta got together, and they try to "stand up" for each other...a little clic sorta. Unity motorsports is tight buddys with vizard, and he did a video a while back trying to clean up the failed bottle rocket performance at "318 fest"..... it's kinda sad really

Nick repeats himself quite a bit and to me thats a bit annoying. I like his core show some of the other stuff not so much.
 
David Vizard is by far the most accomplished and knowledgable of them all but I prefer Speed Masters for the format .
David I can follow on Speedtalk.com where he is a bit more concise .

I wish Speed Masters would do a show on maxed out W2 old school build vs modern Chevy or Ford . That would be cool !

Takes me on average about 1-2 minutes to get through NG's videos, I just don't find the knowledge that I crave. I've called him a few times when I've seen him having issues with and engine or his dyno and I've done a few jobs for him Ive offered help more than once- his way is his way and thats about all there is to it. I'd like him to show us valve/seat/guide work on his new Rotter machine tool/porting/flow testing etc.. I'm very tired of every smallblock or big block making 400hp. I'm actually starting to wonder if his dyno is stuck at 400hp or something. I find it strange that 340,s make 400hp, and 440,s , 454 Chevys, and almost anything else make 400hp over and over again. Nicks garage is really about restoration not modification . And that is ok ... he does a great job bringing Mopars back to their original state .

Agreed, you said it better than I could. That being said, most restoration shops don't have a flowbench or dyno. I think NG spreads himself way too thin , at least for my liking. J.Rob
 
Richard Holdener selected a motor to do the test himself. Let's see. Apparently the devil is in the details. Like engine type for one. Lets see if the 2 gracefully accept defeat and victory.

LMAO, full well knowing half the folks on here do not know who Red Green is. Playing as much hockey as I did in Canada we watched him all the time. He is a hoot. We went and saw his live act once, I was laughing so hard I got side cramps. Once he gets ya going he shows no mercy! Hah!

David Vizard is a National treasure for us Brits.
His Hotrod article with Dullsticth on 440 heads in 99 was pure GOLD!!!

DV sends me emails about once a month to ask about the weather etc.
But what he really wants to know is will I sell/give him my Weslake engine...

Landy and Garlits wanted it free, but they weren’t British lol...
No use it sitting in my garage when DV and Dulltwitch could be playing with it???

back in the day circle track did a dyno test on changing piston off set and found 15 hp on restricted engines 2 barrel 500cfm holly and a 3hp gain on 4 barrel engines
