Anyone in the St Louis area, St Charles / St Peters specifically, willing to remove my 4 spd tranny out of my 72 Demon for $500.
I've been sick since May and I just don't think I can do it now. Is $500 too low..?
I really don't have a clue on compensation for that work.
Heated garage with air compressor.

I'm curious why you need it removed. If a new clutch is needed maybe an independent may help you out. Of course if tranny has to be rebuilt that may be a problem. 47 years ago I dropped my 4 speed out of my Road Runner and had no idea how heavy it was. I had to get 2 bulls to get it back in. Now I have Jack as my friend doing my heavy lifting. I hope you get the help you need. Maybe a local Mopar Car Club, if one is nearby could point you in the right direction.

I put the tranny in by myself. Wasn't too bad, especially being my first time. There's a noise when I push the clutch pedal in at a certain point.. It also feels like it's slipping. I've only backed it out and pulled back in the garage.
I just figured I'd pull it out, replace the clutch, etc. and also the throwout bearing. Someone on here mentioned I may have put clutch in backwards.. Hard to believe I'd do something like that, so I'd like to pull it and see.
Hey, I'm originally from upstate New York..Rochester.

I agree transmissions and 3/4 chunks weigh more now then 40 years ago.
I think not only the car owners gained weight, but their car parts gained weight too

I did a clutch with new throw out bearing years ago. I only changed bearing because I was in there. Well you guessed it. Had to pull it out and put my old quiet one back in.
Sorry about your health issue. Hopefully someone nearby can help you.

Greetings from the left side of the state. We did the old in and out about five times last year with my 18 spline four speed. Talk about a heavy son a gun. I bought a cheap HF trans jack and it helped alot. Kept it clean and then sold it for about $25 less than I paid for it. Good luck!
