@rumblefish360. , So if i understand correctly , these heads are the best thing for a la engine ?
I never said that and that would be an opinion and point of view.
That said, what your doing, how your going about it and what kind of power you want is heavily based on the cylinder head to be used. MoPar came out with the W2 in the mid-ish 70’s where as later they came out with the W5’s.
Both heads representing replacement style upgraded high performance or racing heads. Then there are the race W-7-8-9.
Of all these heads, which on is best. Before you answer, I have seen W8 & W9 heads on the street. The owners were extremely happy.
Street ability is dependent on driver.
A heads racing ability is limited by flow and drivers happiness with the head.
And they keep the engine pulling were the others would fall at high rpm
What other heads is this compared with?
The heads ability to allow the engine to rev high is more in the valve spring selection. Followed by an excellent set of ports.
A dead stock W2 will out flow and out power any dead stock LA head, period. Now substitute the words dead stock with;
Prepped
Bowl ported
Full ported
All out race modified
Adding long valves to the W2 head allows more lift and better spring selection for bigger and better more powerful cams.
