Going to have to put this on the back burner for a week or two... I'm just going to have to continue with the new carburetors...

You may have this posted somewhere and I may have missed it but why are you so hard set on running a Tunnelram. Just curious.

      Because I think it's badass...
Mostly everything on the car it's something I've always wanted... The car came with a 727 transmission... Never used it I wanted a 4 Speed.. I always wanted an engine built correctly from the ground up.. I always wanted a dual quad tunnel ram.. I always wanted aluminum heads... And let me see nitrous I think I wanted that ever since I think it was 2001 and it was a Friday at noon when the first showing of the first fast and the furious came out. I went to the middle school and got my son out of class early. We took the 72 Duster in sassy grass green and SS cragars.. had a pretty wild cam with headers and the same as I have now with glass-packs and pipes coming out the side like an AAR Cuda.. it was the only muscle car in the theater parking lot filled with Hondas... I totally embarrassed my son at the end of the movie when the Mopar did the wheelie and I bawled out "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!"...
      LOL...

All I have left is this old picture of a picture that's all crinkly...

I guess I never had that. I never cared about being cool. My plan was all based on being as fast as I could

First and foremost I'm cool without the car just ask me LOL...
No question I like my car to have all the cool stuff...
My plan to was to be as fast as I could and my budget dictated that I'd had enough! LOL I still have plans of going fast but I prefer to be quick and could see myself liking the 8th mile better in that sense.. once the car starts getting up near 120 it just seems a little too fast..
But I have a quandary because the 8th mile just doesn't seem to be long enough nor does the quarter-mile for that matter... I guess that's why I like my snowmobile the best because it's the equivalent of a 940 horsepower car that I ride all day... 160 + horsepower for its 500 lb...(2 cylinder 2 stroke direct injected)

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

I will say a good tunnel ram is far superior to any single 4. If my car didn't have a Raisin Bran hood I'd have a TR.

That's easy! I have three hoods for my car. The factory one in the shed LOL and the one with the hole in it and the one that I'm currently running with the hole in it just the aluminum skin of a feather duster.. (10lbs.)...
Just get a spare hood and cut a hole in it... It's only four half inch bolts...

Course the one that put the whole ends was the factory hood but it wasn't as in nice of condition as the one I bought for 40 bucks LOL and I paid a hundred bucks for the feather duster Hood witch the skin was crap but the ribbing was aluminum so that's the part that matters..

Just waiting on funds... Hopefully ordering new plates next week..
Really finding out how much safer it is and once set up and knowledgeable easy to use... but getting yourself knowledgeable and well-prepared each time you use it seems to be the key..
It's funny the reaction I get from Friends that instantly go into this you're going to blow things up attitude... It seems like people perpetuate any bad stories or stuff they've seen on TV... But I guess that goes with most things with cars..
People are always scared of what they don't know...

I'll have to use the 1553's if I go to the aluminum heads as they're closed chamber and I'm protruding ten-thousandths...

So I'm scratching plan A as far as where my houses are routed. I was going to do one short and one long for the fuel and the same for the nitrous. I did some measuring and I'm going to order two new 14 inch houses with 90-degree elbows for the front and the back of each carb coming from the farthest reaches to the center on the passenger side..
I'm also ordering four 90-degree elbows two of which I need to have to get out from in between the carburetors and then I'm going to use the shorter provided hoses with the plates to elbow back into the fuel side solenoid on the driver side.
It's been mentioned a couple times that people like to route a little bit longer hose for the nitrous as it introduces a softer hit instead of abrupt...
I cut some 14 inch vacuum lines to simulate...

Also after that long discussion with Mike thermos considering a 15lb bottle...
We'll have to see where the budgets at when the time comes..

Don’t use the FelPro 8553 head gaskets, those are for a stock type rebuild. They will not handle high CR, boost or Nitrous.

                  I’d stay with the 1008....
There’s debate on using them with aluminum heads. (Brindle)

Compressed thickness varies widely on the 8553.....

                  Something to ponder.....
a SBM head gasket is the weakest link

What about Clarence for Pistons that are 10 thousandths above deck? With closed chamber heads? .028 isn't a comfortable number...

There are quite a few guys using the 8553 with a moderate shot of nitrous but they do vary A TON in thickness. Only way to be dead on sure is a cometic.

I wish I knew how many of those 8553 head gaskets I’ve thrown out over the years. I’m assuming that’s the one that used to always come in the gasket sets.
