plate ?
Seems when the dash was installed the heater controls were on a strange angle , now they can't be moved , if I do move them the plastic panel will break . If I remove the cover with the gauge bezels will I be able to fix the position of the heater controls ?

OK I'm trying to understand and picture what you have...
Assembled instument panel
Mostly installed in the car.
The climate control levers were to one end off the travel and are now jambed behind the plastic bezel.
You might seperate the plastic from the pot metal in the car but I wouldn't.
I would drop the ash tray and radio
Reach in from underneath and remove the 2 screws holding the controller on the pot metal.
Most of the time I leave the headlight switch, wiper switch, and climate controller in the car from the beginning.
I know the service manual says otherwise but they never considered driving the car withut an instrument panel either.
Good luck
p.s. Always move the climate control levers and switches to their centered positions when installing.

What do you mean controller ? The actual box that has the heater levers in it ? So all I do then is centre the box , centre the levers and put 2 screws back , re-install radio and ash tray ?

I was only guessing and trying to help with the info available.
I dont know what model, heat only or with a/c, what you've had apart and why.

1970 Dart rallye dash , heat only am radio with the 4 rotary dials. Was apart to install rebuilt speedo , but when put back together the levers (and the "contoler " they are in ) for the heater are on a strange angle and cannot be moved , they will break the plastic if moved to the right , stuck in the off position .
Thanks
