You know, it may be just me, but is anyone else really irritated with the amount of talk on the forums lately that involves politics? Maybe I am just going crazy, but it seems like lately it's making its way into a lot of threads. We have a politics forum for a reason... so I personally think everything political needs to stay in that forum. Leave the rest to casual chat and cars... Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I come here for the cars and the laid back atmosphere, not politics.

Anyway, happy friday to everyone!

I just don't read it. I don't see the other politic stuff either, never singed up for that. I think some is ok here, there is other stuff to chat about besides cars. (Did I just say that??)

Hey Hemizach,
If you were referring to my post about me losing my job, I'm sorry I brought politics into it. Sorry if I offended you.

no no, it's not you.

I guess I'm just noticing it more lately. I'm hoping someone will agree so that I don't sound crazy. It just seems like the past couple of weeks there has been more of it.

Maybe I AM going crazy.

It sucks but its taking over many of our lives. I hate politics om a car forum as well but I also know Ive been guilty of bringing it up as well. I wish everyone the best.

OK thanks. You must admit Zach, people are upset with the current state of affairs with the way things are going downhill in this country so I think it is their frustration that is making this a popular subkect at this time. However, you are correct. This is a fun, car site and it should remain that way. Have a great weekend.

I don't come here to look at the political stuff either... nor do I come to look at the football thread or the girls... (no, I'm not gay, I'm happily married and also a Christian and don't want to look at women that way) BUT, I just ignore it and look at what I came here for. People need to be able to vent or talk about things that are going on in their lives... Hopefully we can support each other in no matter what we are going through.... (unless it involves driving a non-mopar....) LOL I have a Mopar, Chevy, and a Ford... hmmmm

can u blame them! this country isn't half of what it used to be cuz the "elected" officals do what ever the hell they want with no reprocussions. were losing our country and our rights and people don't seem to even F**king NOTICE!

Politics can do damage to the hobby but mostly by 'politicians'.
Talking about it is way do inform, be informed, or just vent a lil.jmo
I'm not signed up for the political section either I get my fix from rush via radio while I work, so I'm good. ha ha

Politicians suck mostly, and thinking about what direction we're heading is scary too!

It's hard to get away from it especially when you may have grown up in an era where government intrusion was never a thought, but now it seems the government is growing bigger and bigger and is encroaching on many aspects of our lives.
Take for example the car industry.

Who ever thought the government would want to take over industries?

We have seen this done by other dictatorial governments in the past so many of us feel it is our duty to warn others of what is going on.

Frankly, alot of us are pissed at the government sinking their claws into every aspect of our lives, especially those of us who are small business owners that are very independent and don't rely on anyone for anything.
We are the people government is targeting the most.

Everyone has their own reasons and some are more patriotic than others.

I look at it this way, you don't have to read it and you don't have to comment if you don't want to.
Enjoy it while you still can because the internet is under their sights as well, so is alot of other things we take for granted.

Believe me, I hate the smell of tyranny in the morning as much as the next guy.

I agree with Cudaspaz, only one thing I going to add " I'll be Damned before I convert my Demon into a Hybrid!

When I was working, it was for small business owners, in construction; laid off, good friends with the owner- he explained how he was undercut, below cost, on bidding jobs. He even paid me ,under the table, after laid off, to drive an hour, to qualify him for a bid that he didn't want, so far away I didn't want the drive for 9 months (1.5 hour each way). People were in there, that asked questions that I , and the airport could see- in trouble if this bozo gets the bid.
not stimylus, pork for 2010 elections. I'm done venting on politics here; but what hurts me, is to see all the members almost giving cars away, due to this.
I'm 58, most paid off, drive a 1999 Ram, etc; Savings are like that big sucking sound, but maybe can survive;will be living off welfare unless this bs is changed.
but it really hurts to see people selling their hard work; pride and joy, for peanuts.
That clunker BS just took parts away from us.
OK, done venting; no more politics. But is it politics? are a turn to communism?
Promise, done.

Well, if any polotical threads pop up here, I'll move them. I haven't noticed any threads that fit that but a ***** about a job lose and the econmy aren't exactly befitting a move on it's own.

If anyone feels the thread should be moved, any thread, use the report a post feature and a MOD will get on it right away.

Otherwise, I just simply do not look at that forum....ever...so let the fish feast on what ever stew becomes in that place.

You would be suprised how many people could not tell you who the Vice President or who the Speaker of the house is. It is so sad. Young people should show more of an interest in politics, because this is your future. Just my 2 cents.

Amen hemizach, I too do not go to the political thread because all the hate makes me crazy. I am out of work and I am smart enough to know it was from the last 40 years, not yesterday. I enjoy this forum tremondously BECAUSE it is the one place I can go and not have to hear all the hate and politics. Regardless of what has happened to you, this is about cars and great people, lets not let the small % of people ruin it for us.

Be thankful that you will be able to remember these days of talking politics in an open venue. In another 30 yrs of paying taxes and supporting the "Royalty" and entitlement peeps, you will be whispering behind closed doors about politics in fear of being overheard.

In reality though, it's just a sign of the times.

Personally, I am glad people are becoming more aware of whats happening in the politicol climate instead of sticking their heads in the sand.

I agree that it is a sign of the times. there was as time that we we could be confident in our homes, job, ect. However in this day and age, we cannot be secure in much of anything. That causes both fear and anger, and I believe that we need to be able vent our concerns. I've noticed that those of you that are complaining about Political discussion here, are returning to see what else has been written. If it bothers you that much, there are tons more threads on "A" bodies only to check out. I enjoy a lively discussion, and I also take both my first and second ammendment rights very seriously. I have served my Country, and will fight for a just cause. I will not fight just cause. When I took the Oath to enter the Military I vowed to Protect this Country from all enemies, Both Foreign and Domestic. That said, if we cannot exercise and protect the rights we currently have how are we going to hold on to the rights we are about to loose. There is a Pandemic in the United States today, and it is called Cranial Rectumitis. For those that suffer from it, the view rarely changes.

Zach, a bunch of people in this country better get tuned up with this political stuff as this is the agenda that will eat our asses up if we dont do something about it. Hiding your head in the sand aint gona get it. We need to hit it head on in the face to make it go away and even then it will be an up hill battle and there are those on here that dont have the stamina to stay the course. You better get tough if your gona survive. If you dont stand for something then you are just sucking up precious oxygen that is totally wasted.
