Yes it was, we were there in Sept before it and then again in Febuary too.
We have some very good friends there and only one of them was killed in it.
It was Mr JoeJoe, a very nice guy. We knew him his wife and all his kids. We
used to go every where with them sight seing and just javing fun learning
from eachother about different places. Him and his car was pulled out to sea
and never seen again. The power of that thing was unbeivable, it pulled 20' x
14' x 14' thick peices of concreat out to sea with not problem. I have many
stories of friends that whent threw it, some AMAZING some just of seeing
things that others shouldnt have to see in a life time. But now the island is
very very beautiful, all the old nasty dirty things were washed away and
everything is new and clean now. In my opion Thailand is the most beautiful
place in the world. Everyone there loves the King and he tells the people to
be nice to the tourist and 99.999% of them are. The kindest nicest most
beautiful people in the world. Not the sex like 100% of Americans think of.
There is so much history and beauty there, its the PERFECT family tourist
site. I am taking my kids there soon. The small building that is being rebuilt is
a shrine for Muslims and there were over 100 killid in it. there were having a
gathering in it when the waves hit. It was actually right on a creek bed and
is being rebuild in the same spot. The pic with three beaches in it is where so
many lost their lives 2 1/2 months before. Such a shame.
