So @memike was correct we are snowed in! We lost power and the trees are encased in wet snow. They were forecasting 8 inches but when we went to bed there was only four. Jodi said it was clearly a man’s 8 inches of snow! Hah! When we woke up there is a legit 8 inches, it snowed most of the night! In preparation of today I brought my flat trailer in the shop yesterday. It is going to get an overhaul today. I am going to mount spare tires, mount a tool box and fabricate some side boards. Gonna be a busy day.

I don't remember how much Hot wheels were when I was a kid, but I do remember Matchbox cars were pretty expensive $2.50, $3.50 ? somehting like that IIRC. Most of mine were hand me downs. Too bad for the collectors they all got the patina and scars from crashes, flights, and marbles.
 
Morning, coffee is on just got back inside after feeding the horses. Little brisk outside here with snow moving in later this afternoon.

Always wonder about people who ask about how much they ought to price something. I always think, how patient are you? How much work do you want to put into the sale? and How much is it worth to you?

I think Matchbox cars were always more than Hotwheels. But Hotwheels was better with race sets while I just remember garages and stuff for matchbox.

They are usually cheap when needing work. Gut it and have a small sleeping area in the nose still. Not sure the chassis is heavy enough or the axles, but worth keeping eyes open for a deal.

See it every day with stamps. I took a lot of the newer stamps from collection I bought to a dealer and he wanted to give me 30% of face value. No deal. He said I will never sell them all online. He may be right, but if I sell half of them at 70% I'm already ahead of his offer... These guys can buy stamps all day long at those rates because there are many people just looking to dump an inherited collection for cash. Similar to how I was able to buy these cheap and still give the seller what they considered a good price. I have sold a few sheets at 70+%. Just traded some for other stamps I needed for my collection. I'm in no rush...

Got windshield out. Wasnt too bad as it was factory type butyl set. With a urethane cap. It was leaking in a few spots. So now i clean and paint so its ready for new glass. Will plunk old glass in the hole to keep the dust out though.

with the cost of even used car trailers it's definitely worth looking into. Been trying to find a 18 foot to haul the old truck to shows and 6 grand is what I'm looking at.
Can buy an older school bus for 6 grand cut the sides and roof off 20 feet and use the front half for living space.
 
Old Crow was most likely to be the first bottle of whisky i ever seen in my life, hid in my uncle's old car in the yard, any information on this old whisky i am going to dig up today while its to dang cold and wet outside.

The one we had axles rated for 4500 pounds each. Dual axles. The camper weighed 6,800 loaded. So I think if you gut it, you should be fine on the axles.

I’d strengthen the chassis by boxing or triangulating

Had a buddy that did that with a bus for his mud truck (jeep). Otherwise I love this.
