What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
I picked up 4 huge, 6 ton jack stands today. These things are super heavy duty and retail for over $200 a pair. I picked them up for $60 off FBM. I also fixed a questionable lawnmower I got the other day from FBM. After that
I fixed my busted, mangled, rusty drivers hood hinge on my Duster and got my hood working like new again. It was a good day.

I love it when I have days like that. I keep going and try to get as much done as possible because I know another day can easily turn into a cluster f#*k.

I still haven't figured that one out myself. Some days a guy can fully port a set of heads and put a shortblock together but other days it takes all day to replace a set of plugs....

I degreed a cam for the first time in 40 Years. Now I'm just waiting on a Harmonic balancer puller to be delivered Monday So I can finally start reclaiming the space on the parts shelf. I lent the previous puller out and forget who has it.
I ordered a degree wheel socket for the next time. Moving the wheel without moving the crank without the socket is a pita and took twice as long.
I got it down to .5 in three tries having to loosen the bolt to move the wheel.
I'm going to recheck it when the socket is delivered.

After 50 years of working on cars
I tell everyone it the only job I know that the easiest job can turn to the worse job in the turn of a bolt

Keep us posted on how the starter works out. I have an RB in my 68 Dart with TTI headers. Changing the starter last year was a PITA.
So far the Powermaster 9000-13 starter is not working with Tri-y's. Although with the header tacked on I was able to put it in the mount area, but cant line it up correctly to stab it home. The solenoid hits the header. Going to work on it more tomorrow and will follow up.

I figured out how to make a baby moon hub cap for wheel that doesn't have any provisions for it. I took a Crown Vic police interceptor hub cap and welded a slightly modified GM restoration smoothie to it!
I even tested the finished assembly on the road. Tested on the front and rear wheels, worked perfectly!

Last night was the season opener for the "Make Gratiot (Avenue) Great Again" campaign with our car club (Twisted Axle Car Club). Weather was dry, but cold and windy. Met up with Eric (FABO member @MichiDart) and Ken (FABO member @72Dart6pack).

Look for the Jaundiced GT under the "io" of Gratiot on the MGGA photo.

Ha that looks like my slant
She's pointing down hill too
Its funny cause when ever I look at it I think the front is heading more south

I took my Duster out for the spring run to "blow the cobs out"....
AAAAAnd pegged it so hard it broke the needle off of the speedometer!
I guess I'll pull it and see if I can fix it or find a replacement needle.

Did a show today to benefit our Wonderful Veterans!

6 A-bodies and 2 B bodies showed up! Four were Awarded! Good Day for Mopars! However One was awarded something Awkward!

Top 15 to a 70 General Lee Charger, and A 70 Dart Swinger Resto Mod with a 522 BB, Top Mopar to a 69 Dart GT 340, and Top BPOC announced as Buick Plymouth Olds Cadillac to yours
truely! Honestly I did not know what to do and eventually went up and accepted the award. As the drivers left and the lot emptied, I went up to the awards area and talked to the show folks
and asked if there was an error and did they want the trophy back? They told me I scored best in class and deserved an award and they were not sure at the point. I gave them my phone number and more,
they told me to take the Trophy home and they would get back in touch with me! Might be the most collectable Trophy in my room!

Wish I would have taken a pic today, but like a 37 Chevy truck all lowered and done up in army paint scheme with a SBC 350 and tunnel ram with a 675 blower on top of it with 2 holley carbs on top of it and a hat! Evil it was!
Moral booster!
this was my old greenie! What would have been an M880 clone if Sam kept with Mopar. Bone stock D250, It's been painted cammo since.
I might do that to my d150 shortbed... Thanks for the idea!

Small Clip of that of that old Chebby next to the Road Runner of my Veteran Buddy! Maybe you can zoom in far enough to find that SBC under the blower and Tunnel Ram!
