What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Rear cylinder?? I remember in the early '80's learning the Clevelands liked to overheat the rear cyls., and cracks would happen....sorry to hear Dude...curious what all is found on the 400. And buddy of mine ~'90 or so had a 351C in His '68 Torino GT, I 'funnel-matched' a 4V intake to His 2V heads,.....the cam retaining plate broke, & walked far enough to have a lobe clip an adjacent lifter & boom......mechanical kill switch..lol.
No, it was #5 first one on the driver's bank.

I cleaned up and chased threads in some big bolt disc brake spindles I'm getting ready to use on a project. They were filthy, but will be usable again.

Nothing, I'm laid up with a 6mm kidney stone, which has ejected itself from my kidney and lodged itself in my ureter. Now I can imagine what it is like to shot with a 22. Although not life threatening, it is very uncomfortable, and will require additional medical attention to move it along. As a result of the holiday, that may or may not happen until sometime later next week. :mob:

I feel for you! I had a 3mm stone over Valentine's Day and thought I was going to die! Pains hit Saturday evening, my daughter took me to the ER on Sunday, passed it on Monday afternoon. I hope I never have another!

My brother had a couple he's 65 this year
Changed his diet exercise every morning lost 65 lb says he hasn't felt better in 35+ years
After this vacation...im going to start again
Think i gained 8lb with all this great food

I feel for you, man. I've had my share of those, and it can feel like an ice pick in you're lower back.

I know the feeling. My wife has been understanding with letting me fix my projects for multiple days at a time with 2 little kids to watch with the promise that it doesn't happen often. So I was able to get the car running and driving within 2 days. Like I said, nothing crazy, just an oil change and some new gas and it fired right up after needing some cranking love. I've in the past also replaced the rear axle bearings, front forks, and tire on my valkyrie, and did an engine swap on the buell. And no, fixing the daily driver SUV doesn't count as touching a wrench. Aside from the G8, because working on that car was something I actually wanted to do. I'm just mad that I had to do all the deferred maintenance left over from the PO such as replacing the carrier bearing, rear wheel bearing, alternator, HD A/C bracket, rebuild the transmission, new tires and brakes, instead of adding stuff like better rear sound deadening, improving the subs, new wheels, brembo brakes, and ultimately turbocharging it for 600 whp. I did put new struts in it and some lowering springs so that was nice. But I bought the damn thing with a broken spring in the first place.

I use up way too many favors during hunting season. My car isn’t real high up on my hobby priority list unfortunately.

Working on replacing the torn up door latch area on my driver’s door. Using the Dynamic Renovations repair kit.

I earned brownie points today. I ZI wake up early everyday, so detailed her car in and out. Then when she woke, we hit 2 grocery stores when they opened. We bought Ribeyes, New York Strips, Ribs, York Loin (cut up into premium chops)
Helped her Food Saver it all into portions, and packed the Freezer.
I think cleaning a driver made it rain. She does have a clean 20 year old car. Since we keep it up and do maintenance.

And Cleaned up the Dart.

Saturday July 5th, 11 of us (Twisted Axle Car Club members) met at the local Kohl's and drove to the 87th annual Algonac, MI Pickerel Fest Car Show. It was about a 20-22 mile caravan to the water side park.

Once we all got parked, I did a walk by video:

I also won some pretty cool garage wall art door prize(s):

Finished everything up at Motofab, and we loaded it up for home. In my garage/shop, and I have 3 weeks to finish it for Nats.
I'd like to thank Ernie/Motofab, for all his mad skills, and letting me work on the car while it was there. A great friend, and human.

Started over a month ago to switch cams, replace the K frame and rebuild the front end of my 67 360 Barracuda. ## 12,259; 12,291; 12,334; and 12,344. Keep getting sidetracked plus falling to the "while I'm there" syndrome, so the job has been gradually growing.

However, I got my new cam in today. Not hooked up to anything yet, just in the block. Will degree it in then start putting the motor back together.

NC engine builder machined the lifters for me. Hydraulic flat tappet, about .490 lift. (Old one was .450 lift, good for 13 flat at 106.) Hoping to get it broken in OK. If not, will switch to roller.

Found out I can't get my new Kevco oil pan in without either raising the engine or lowering the K frame. Given where my hoist is, will be easier to pull the K frame. Only four bolts holding it in right now. (Edit: OK, I'll have to put the engine support beam back in, four more bolts.) (Edit again: plus two motor mount bolts.)

Hoping to take it to the strip this October. If no nasty surprises, should make it.
