What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Was at the Garlits show Sat and Sun. There are always some absolutely outstanding cars there and this year was no exception.

It was 2 years ago at the Garlits show that we met our first Mopar friends here in Florida. We had made our 3rd and final trip moving here and arrived on that Friday, the movers came on Saturday and dumped our belongings at our house, and on Sunday we went to the Garlits show!! They have a Petty blue 72 Demon 340 so naturally that attracted us to talk with them. They plugged us in with the local Mopar club and have been enjoying them all ever since!

So today I thought it only appropriate to snap their car with our 71...kinda brotherly love so to speak. The 1st pic was taken after the end of the show when most cars had left.

I liked this pic as we were about to leave.

I used a hand-held mini sandblaster with baking soda in it and it made it look like brand new! It looked very similar to yours, prior.

Ha! It looks like your nice crimped ends were saved! I was cobbling mine back together today and yesterday upside down laying on the floorboard under my dash. On the plus side, my brake lights and tail lights work now! Discovered the heater box and AM radio were toast though.

I had a mini blaster i gave away when I got my big one
Think i can get it back for soda ...never thought of it

Took the Demon for a nice long drive after reinstalling the transmission since it was completely rebuilt.

I went and bought a solid deck lid for my Duster. It appears to have been rust proofed some time in it's past.

When I didn't have a spoiler, I dreamed of having a spoiler. When my car came with the spoiler, I dream of what it would look like without the spoiler. LOL

Same here. When I was younger I really wanted the Spoiler, but now I like the original look without it. Mine came without it though.

Put the Jaundiced GT into hibernation today. We got our first snow of the season today, fortunately no salt was put down yet. It was a pretty good cruising season, I put just over 1,100 miles on it.

Drivers side needed an outer rocker

FINALLY...a car that looks like mine!! Well, ok, mine's a 69 Charger but I'm doing similar surgery. I finished the outer rocker replacement (only about a million spot welds to cut out!) but I've also pulled the outer wheelhouse for a new one yet to install. I also cut my quarter in a very similar manner. I'll put the outer wheelhouse and new trunk drop on AFTER I cut and fit the new quarter.

Spitting snow here so putting her up on jack stands for the winter so I do t get flat spots in the tires

Boy I don't miss that cold stuff! Instead, I drove the avatar on a 50 mile round-trip to a show. It was about 82 deg. Parked with our friend's "Mr. Blue" 72 Demon 340.

Now I would appreciate it if you northerner's would keep your cold stuff up there. We're supposed to have record lows Monday and Tuesday night - right below freezing! It'll be mid-50's during the day with plenty of sun but still.... Good news is back to mid 70's on Thursday and on up from there.

love it ,not ready for snow yet but last only had to plow once ...the couple of other storms it melted by noon ....i'll never go south

Tx.here, we rent out a bedroom, comes with 1 case of free cheap beer, for a mere $1500 a month, Includes heat and AC and a shower priviledge once a week if needed. No garage for you, but we have many large pines for shade!

I like cold and snow ....better than hot and humid
But do like the offer

I took my new/used deck lid to work today and figured out it’s an original TX9 with no bondo, damage or rust. Score!

I got the steering column and steering wheel installed. That's a pretty good job for an old man working alone, but I got lucky in a lot of respects. I haven't gotten the roll pin knocked completely into the connector yet. The connector is perfectly located on the shaft of the steering box, so I don't know what's stopping it. Maybe I'm just too tired to hit it hard enough.:(

If this is the yellow that you're talking about, yes, its the same color. The lighting is different in each of the photos, but it's all Tasco's version of Sunfire Yellow.

Yea its a same yellow that the 69 darts came in a little pale
The top pic looks little the 72ish dodge color

Drove it into work today. My truck is in the shop and my wife needed her car. A man has to do what a man has to do
