Dash Paint Gloss or Flat Clear

Thanks. I was leaning towards that option as well since I'll have a dash pad. This way if I don't get the exact effect I want, it won't be that noticable.

Dash Paint Gloss or Flat Clear

I've got my dash blasted and epoxy primed and am ready for basecoat tomorrow. I was thinking that I would flatten the clear for the dash to help reduce glare. I've never used flattener before so I read up a little on it. I'll call my paint guy at SPI for help on mixing ratio. I'm just asking...

Dynamat / Peal n Seal... yes or no

I found a decent deal on Dynamat from Summit. I was able to do my entire floor with one box. f you get a promotion coupon then you can save a little more. I think I paid $125 3 years ago. Sounds like there are some good alternatives out there for less $$$. I may put the other stuff inside my...

    Radio or no radio

On my 68 Dart. I just have a small amplifier consealed under my front seat with the wires going back to the speakers. Then I just hook up my iPod the the amp with a RCA jack adapter cable which was like $12. Instant tunes and I don't have to mess with the stock radio. Simple.

    radio choices

I'm thinking of putting my little $99 Sony stereo with iPod aux and Amp under the driver's seat. I'll run a Monster wire from the Aux port to my iPod or iPhone. I shaved my antennae and tucked it underneathe the dash. Now my dash and windshield frame acts as my antennae in the convertible. NO...

    interior plastic color change

Yep. The adhesion promoter stuff I used was called Bulldog. Great stuff. It goes on clear too. I used it for my door panels and my convertible rear panels, armrest, etc with a custom factory looking color I got mixed at Carquest. SEM is really good for fabric. Used to change my carpet color...

    Heater Box Gaskets & Seals

I used some extra trunk weather stripping I had left over. It worked perfectly. I just used some 3M super adhesive after cleaning the fiberglass really good with a scotch brite pad. Just an option.

    Another dash removal

It's not that hard to remove yourself. Best to have two people though. Install is another story.

    Another dash removal

I think it is five screws up top and the 2 on the sides. The window has to come out as far as I remember from doing mine. You may be able to push the lower portion out enough to get to the screws.

    opinions/criticism wanted

Now that is a really kick azz idea with the fish and the back lighting. Wrapping the vinyl tightly around the fish without any wrinkles will be the biggest challenge. I'm sure you are up too it with your ingenuity. \\:D/ An excellent peice of polished stainless steel inset into the panel...

    opinions/criticism wanted

What is the name of the foam and distributor. I may follow in your footsteps. Uhhhhh again. hahaha. You do kickass work and we both have 66 cars. Mine will be the convertible valiant/barracuda since I have barracuda grills. It would be sweet to have both our rides next to each other in a Mopar...

How do you clean mold/mildew off vinal seats?

    Tach Mount Fabrication

I took your "sleeper" advice and modified the bracket to fit under the dash pad. Looks 100% better and looks very clean. I can still reach the cig lighter and the ashtray with no problem. The wires for the tach actually thread right behind the dash cluster. It is actually very stiff as well and...

    Tach Mount Fabrication

I thought about slipping it below the dash pad but it may get in the way of the ashtray and the cigarette lighter. I don't use either one though. I going to fab up another one just to see how it looks. Didn't know that about Mr. Norm. Cool. I got the idea from some pictures on here.

    Tach Mount Fabrication

Well after looking at the instructions for my new tach I didn't like the idea of drilling holes into my newly painted dash. I did a little search here on FABO and found a few ideas and pictures. This is what I came up with and it beats paying $60. This was from some left over scrap sheetmetal...

    Arm Rest Paint?

no sanding or scuffing. just scrubing. I used simple green for the dirt and grim then some mineral spirits for any oils. Then wiped dry with terry cloth then tacky cheese cloth. Vinyl prep then color. Pretty simple and looks good. SEM is good stuff. I wanted mine color matched light blue...

    Arm Rest Paint?

I did mine that way because I didn't want to send the armrests out to get rechromed. $$$. They came out looking nice. Make sure to use an adhesion promotor on any plastic or vinyl pieces. I did my door panels and the convertible panels this way. Everything came out looking nice and is color...
