Easy Off oven cleaner will remove paint from plastic and shouldn't harm it. I used it on mine no problems. Do a test area on the back side first to be sure.

Thanks Redfish. Mine is missing the heatshield but I do see 4 small 1/8 holes toward the rear of the cluster that look like the should have something screwed to it. This really makes sense now. I will have to fabricate one for this.

Scampin I have been trying to find out what goes in the large holes to secure the top edge. No help yet. Hopefully someone come to the rescue.

The opening is different. It could be done but you would need to remove everything from the dash to do it, and at that point you might as well pull the whole dash.

Thank you DRENO. Be very carefull when you strip the paint/chrome. DO NOT use any type of paint remover or it will be ruined. Just ask matthon. I hope he has found a replacment for his. Here is mine 90% finished.

I think FASTBACK has some pics here somewhere on his mount. He mounted where the top vent bolts to the dash. I put mine in the guage cluster. Its a mini though.

I picked up a roll of this at the HD and might give it a try inside the doors and see how it goes.

Thanks for the replies. That was a concern about the odor. I live in Florida and it gets a little warm in the summer. I have been thinking about this for a while. I have sprayed the body shop deadener in there now(much better then dupli color rattle can stuff) But haven't driven it much since then.

There is a thread here somewhere on this. I have installed one and the fit was so-so, but it looks ok for a daily driver. I dont have the finished pic yet but will add later. I was able to get it to fit the top better then it shows in the pics. These were just with it sitting on there.

To remove the lenses just grind away the melted plastic that holds the meteal frame for the lenses, I used a Dremel. To reinstall just use some 5 min epoxy. Not sure about the Barracuda script emblem but maybe the same way?

The bolts of the tracks go through the floor and are accessed from under the car. 1/2"
