Well then it prob has little to do with the filter or the pump.
No fuel flows through them when the car is sitting - unless you're someplace with negative gravity :eek: :p

The fuel inlet is well above the fuel level.
Once its in the bowl, the only place for fuel to go when the engine is off is out the vents as vapor.
Exception being the Holley's with side mounted bowls which can leak at the bowl gaskets.

When the engine is off, look down the carb and move the throttle. If there's not much fuel out of the squirters then the accelerator pump either doesn't have fuel or a bad seal.

All of the above has been made more likely by the various reformulations of pump gas since 1967.
 
Glad you brought up keys. My first daily key for the Ram may have a broken spring on the lock buttons. Put the key in your pocket, take a few steps you hear the door locks engage, few more steps, door lock noises again. That fob hides in the cab now and the valet key resides in a Hide a Key. Must get a replacement.

fuel, air, fire = boom chugaluga. :thumbsup:
Might not stay running, but if its getting ANY fuel and does not at least try to start, there aint no spark. If its got spark and aint trying to start it got no fuel. Once it tries to start..
Poke randomly with screwdriver
Move all linkage at least twice
Hook up timing light and any other meter you have
Your car still aint running at this point, but it really looks like you tried.
Now you can...

That was our warm up yesterday.
News said coating to 2" overnight. We are past that and still snowing. That was part one. 'the teaser' Real **** storm starts later today. Ugh
I need these gugs to put down the pich forks a pick up some snow shovels. :mob: lol

That's where a little spritz of carb spray while cranking helps. Then you know for sure you have ignition. That can also be checked with a screwdriver in a spark plug wire almost grounded to the block.

Wd-40 works very well, use it to fire in snowmobiles and atv’s
