Well, another reason to skip Wal-Mart

I'm a hugh dog lover, what is in your shirt i would'nt call a dog,and if it some how got loose in the mall would probably be mistaken for a big rat...so to be on the safe side it should stay at home..

LMAO. Stroked 340, you get the "Best Response" award.

Parish Hilton? That's a low blow.

Chihuahua are different. They are very sensitive (like me) and suffer when seperated from the one person that they bond too.
danmc77 you may be a dog person, but you sir obviously no nothing about chihuahuas.
Thank you. You make the mall point better than I could. The puppies in the mall are confined. Not roaming lose.
My "rat" is confined. No problems. Removing her from my shirt is like trying to pry a sea creature from it's shell.
Your horse (mastif), on the other hand would do quite well in memike's Tractor Supply Store.
Perhaps look for some vermin while there.
I'm a very respecful person, when necessary.
You may have missed it, but government zero tolerance silly-ness isn't hard to find.
That is what happens when the rule nazis take over. Is it some type of compensation for people not having common sense?

Wisconsin: A sixth-grader gets suspended because of a science project. The project involved cutting an onion. He brought a kitchen knife to school. Bad sixth-grader.

Georgia: Ashley is in the sixth grade. She loves Tweety Bird. She has her wallet on a Tweety Bird keychain. The government employees running her particular government school decide that her keychain is a weapon. She could strangle someone with it. (I guess ? if they had a neck the size of a pencil.) Ashley ? suspended.

Texas: This zero-tolerance idiocy comes from Ft. Worth. Cory Henson plays baseball on the Diamond Hill-Jarvis baseball team. In the trunk of his car is his baseball equipment, including aluminum bats. In the front seat of his car we have a souvenir baseball bat. It is made of wood and 8? long. That?s not as long as a piece of copy paper is wide. Ft. Worth government school officials decide that the 8? bat is a weapon! The real aluminum baseball bats aren?t. I wonder if these school officials know that virtually every car in the student parking lot has a weapon in the trunk. It?s called a lug wrench. Now If you want to clobber someone, which would you choose? The 8? wooden bat or the two-pound steel lug wrench?

Missouri: October of 2001. It is just a month after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. A fifth-grade student draws a picture of an airplane flying into a building. Suspended.

A third-grader has a brother serving in the Army in Afghanistan. The proud third-grader draws a picture of his brother. The drawing shows his brother with a gun. Suspended.

My Wife takes our Yorkie everywhere, but she carries him in a purse type black shoulder bag that has mesh sides so he can breathe and nobody knows he is there unless he makes some noise, and it's sometimes embarassing because she starts saying "No!, you can't do this here!" or "You're not gonna start this now, no!" and people look at her like she's nuts or that she yelling at me...LOL!
He growled at a checkout guy once, and startled him, but he cracked up when he realized why her purse scared the crap out of him, ha, ha.

I really don't see a big deal if the pup is in one of those bags, but stuffing it into your jacket with all that hair just looks plain nasty like you are a homeless dude and the pup may be your next meal for all they know.

Dude, no offense, but I doubt if I would let you into my establishment either looking like that, that's pretty nasty....LOL.

None taken. The picture doesn't do us justice. It was just for illustration.
I have a "ratty" leather bag she goes in during the hot weather. But the shirt is warm in the winter. Yes, out of sight is the key. Sort of like carrying conceled weapons. The gun is fine as long as no one sees it. You aware of this? The cops get all anal if they SEE the gun. Go figure.

I have a dog. I love my dog. She is a good dog. She stays at home. Where dogs belong. I hate it when people bring there little yappy dog in to the store. I try to not say anything and be nice. But it is hard when you have a little rat trying to bite your shins. I just want to kick the little SOB's across the room.

Yep, except that she doesn't yap.
It's the little screaming rug rats in public that get me.
"The Breeders" as they might be called.
(Hey that's a good name for a punk group),
What ever happened to "children should be seen and not heard".
Must be showing my age.
Uh Oh.

Yeah, I know, my buddy got busted a couple years back carrying at the mall because he bent over and the gun was visible.
A rookie cop got his thong in a wad over it, and gave him hell.

My buddy explained the ccw laws to the cop, but he wanted nothing to do with it so my buddy requested he call his supervisor to the scene, which the rookie did, and his supervisor gave him a slap on the wrist and told him make sure he conceals it better next time so the rookies and the libs don't get all worked up over it.

i am very anti-walmart. i do understand why they dont want our pets in the store. but i believe my pets are more well behaved then most of the kids running around these stores. and probably cleaner than most of the trash that does shop at walmart. oh and about zero tolerance... a few years back in high school. i got in a fight which resulted in a 1 week suspension. then someone mentioned that i called him a fag. that was 1 more week suspension. this place is beginning to be a joke.

and you sir hit the nail on the head

Personally, I will never shop there. I won't support them. I'll drive further just to get something from another store. They are a prime example of how a monopolizing corporation can influence and brainwash America.

SCREW THEM.

I feel the same way. And also because of the expert, (wait, did I say that?) mechanics they have doing oil changes. When I had one done on my '01 Dakota they left an oil trail from the bay to where they parked it. They brought it back in and found that the old oil filter gasket didn't come off with the old filter, and they put the new filter on over it, with the resulting oil gusher. They were lucky that they didn't have to buy me a new engine!

I love the way these things always turn into anti-government rants. What does a Wal-Mart policy have to do with "government zero-tolerance rule-nazis"? They are a private buisiness that can do whatever they want. They don't allow dogs - that's fine - it's their property and I respect their property rights just as I respect my neighbor's. 99% of us responsible dog owners respect policies that have existed for decades regarding dogs in stores and malls for good reason, but what I don't like is when the other 1% feels like the rules don't apply to them. "No Dogs Allowed" is not a new policy by any means. I don't mean to jump on you on this but it just strikes a nerve when others try to get away with things that I would consider rude or disrespectful with my dogs. Just one of my "pet" peeves.

This is a silly post.People not enforcing the rules is a reason not to shop somewhere. Would it be ok for my daughter to bring her ferret in the store? certainly not. animal lover or not. a store is not a barnyard.

daredevil and 1967dartgt hit it on the head ,why must some pathetic people equate their animals with humans , and as for dogs in stores tell the little girl in eaton rapids mi who didn't know the dumb *** shopkeeper had his " he's part of the family like our child " in the store and got her face literally ripped off , animals are animals not people their tiny brains are wired like animals and they react like animals because they are animals if you want a child adopt one

This sums it all up right here - "my little FooFoo is clean and well behaved and should be allowed in any establishment. Your children, on the other hand, are nasty and irritate me (and make my little FooFoo nervous)". Ever have kids, I'd bet no but could be wrong. Do yourself a favor, go away, come back and re-register with a new name and stay with automotive topics to avoid reactions like these.

PS Got two dogs myself and love 'em to death, but I got my priorities straight.

Orangecrush - Dang 'bro, beat me to it. You described the couple next door to a tee. Big difference between a wet Lab in a duck boat next to me at sunrise (with a warm cup of coffee and a hot-barreled Beretta), and a foofoo mutt in a man-bag (or hairy sweatshirt). To each his own.

WOW! The premise of this post is the wildest I've EVER read on here! Great entertainment. ADriver, you have one twisted sense of humor!

either way. walmart is bad and anyone who shops there is an idiot. sorry thats just how i feel.

My wife and I have a small dog and he is a member of our family, but he stays in the car when we shop or dine out. Not everyone is an animal lover and we would not try to force our views on others.

We shop at Wally World because, for us it is necessary. In our small town with two food stores which are owned by the same family, we have a choice to shop near home for stale fruits, veggies, breads, out dated milk etc. or drive 30 miles to Wal Mart. Same situation for dry goods, hardware or auto parts. We are not idiots. Where would you shop if these were your options? Yes we are from a rural area of Ky. and it seems a lot of posters have been making jest of the fly over states lately. That's fine though, we consider ourselves fortunate not to be living on the left or right coasts.
Bob

We have a Wal-Mart in the rural area of town which still sells guns.

We have another one 5 miles away in an area that makes you feel like you are a stranger in your own country comprized mainly of Arabs that give you dirty looks and smell like arm pits....sorry, true.

We call it the red neck Wal-Mart and the Jihad Wal-Mart.

Now they just built a brand new one in the center of the two other one's, and they only sell BB.Guns, freaking sissies, but that's okay, I'd rather get mine at a gun store or gun show, than to go through all the bullcrap from trying to buy a gun at wal-Mart because they treat you like a criminal and escort you to the door like you are gonna shoot the place up immediately after purchase.

I understand they have certain policies, but this is just plain rediculous and really sucks living in a wussified America.

What is the problem some of you have with Wal-Mart? I see a lot of "I hate Wal-Mart", etc, but no reasons.

I think that its the fact that they, along with other "big box" chains like home depot and lowes, have used their buying power to dominate the market place to the point that smaller local stores, aka mom-n-pop shops, simply cant survive today. We havent been hit as bad in this area because the Wal-marts around here dont have the big grocery areas but local hardware stores are few and far between anymore. I always make it a point to shop at smaller locally owned businesses whenever possible but I do shop at the bigger chains when I have too.

Just to be clear, this is a (another) reason for ME not shop at Wal-Mart. Others links and reasons have been given. Now whether someone can see those reasons as “problems” is up to the person. This has been discussed before and I suppose it will come up again.
Obviously, one doesn’t have to look far to find reasons. If they want to.

(New rule at Wal-Mart: “All persons resembling ferrets will have their pockets searched for mice”)

Orangecrush, you might want to check out some of the “reactions” to some “automotive” topics here before pronouncing statements like that.
(Which motor oil IS best anyway?)
Yes I had "children". My child was disciplined and graduated Suma-Cum laude. My foot finally came out of his *** then. One of my regrets in life is that I didn’t have more children. Especially when I see what some people are reproducing. Probably best to have quit while I was ahead
Quality not quantity.
You might want to consider doing something about your hair and makeup and then re-registering under a new name.
And that you are spending time reading this silliness says something about your “priorities”. Don’t you think?
(Goes for me too then, doesn’t it?).

Thank you speedthrills for the “complement”. A sense of humor does come in handy.

People that haven’t had a Chihuahua don’t understand them.
Most people don’t know it, but Chihuahua’s cure asthma. (It's truuuuuue. Craig Ferguson)

Thank you rebeldart. You made the original point very well. They are very different “dogs”.
A big wet dog doesn’t belong in the store. And Lily Mae would be horrible at duck hunting.
(Why are you using a girly man Eye-talean shotgun anyway? Must be a “sweet sixteen”. What’s next? A Prancing Pony Ferrari?)

i dont shop at walmart due to it's 20 miles away although if i'm working late and need something automotive i'll go there since its open 24 hrs. i just looked up rob walton and he is estimated $50 billion i believe and read something like everytime the stock goes up $17 they're making $1.7 million. I've met rob walton in person due to Ferrari challenge. Seemed nice when i met him but only thing i really like about him is his amazing car collection at Scottsdale airpark. has many historical race cars ranging from a 250 gto to the original gt40 that won all the races it entered in to a maserati birdcage.

I am amazed what this thread has turned into.

Adriver I commend your cantor throughout. Some of the comments have been brutal. Cheers to you.

Now I am thinking about this and just have a question or two. Lets go back to your first post. I am curious if you were just pissed because someone told you "no". I know that in some instances that I have been told things I get mad and raise hell just because it inconvenienced me. All the sudden Wal-mart sucks and blah blah blah. The thing is you say it sucks and post a bunch of negative things about them.....yet you were indeed going their to buy Fido a sweater. Correct ? So is the hate for Wal-mart just bred because they told you "no" ???? I am curious if you took the little dog to a fancy eating establishment if they said "no" how you would react then ?? Would you start telling and yeling about how bad that place is ?? If you read the door stickers on almost 99% of establishments it says "no shirts, no shoes, no service" I suppose that maybe they should add " no pets " as well.... I wonder if you would have any place to shop then ?? Sometimes a negative experience that affects us burns in us enough to make a thread and start bashing on some establishment or whatever. Truth is.... if you hate Wal-Mart that bad you wouldnt have been going there in the first place. Right ?

You have every right as well as anyone to post your feelings, I am just wondering what produced them.

Overall we all have differences. This is what makes FABO if we all were the same it would be boring as all hell.

I have always been a little uneasy about this argument and still don't know where I really stand. As Americans, we embrace capitalism and strive to build and grow the best companies and buisinesses but complain when a company becomes too big or too successful. Wal-Mart and other big-box stores (including Home Depot and Cabelas) have become large and successful by following a smart buisiness plan ... buy low in bulk and undersell the competition. I'd personally rather like to buy from a mom-and-pop locally, but unfortunately they don't alway have what I need or their prices are so much higher that I sometimes go to the big stores or even shop online. I don't know what the solution would be other than people not shopping there (which is NOT going to happen) ... perhaps more government regulation? ;)

I have three Wal Marts within about 8 miles of my house and all I see is that they have done but good for the areas.

The one nearest my house (2.5 miles) was nothing but a corn field with nothing around. Since they moved in 4 small plazas with mom and pop business have opened and the area is thriving. The only down side is the traffic getting through the area. This store also hosts the largest cruise night in the area with 600-700 cars on a Friday night and give $10-$20,000 a year raised from running a food concession to the car club that runs it for their Charity.

The next closest one took over an abandoned store in a Mall that had just about closed from lack of tenants and has brought that Mall back to the point it is one of the biggest in the area. The last time I was there I don't think there was any empty store fronts.

The third is a Super Store that was built in an abandoned sand pit and since it opened a whole new plaza of small specialty stores and restaurants have moved in. This store puts on a car show every year and is now hosting a cruise night on Saturdays.

All three of the stores support local scouts, sporting teams and church groups by allowing them to hold car washes (and not charging for the water) and to sell cookies & candy at the entrances.

Target has started opening stores near these Wal Marts to give people another choice. Wal Mart may have buried other chain stores like K Mart, Ames, Caldor, Bradlees in my area but that was simply because Wal Mart has what you want at a great price and these other stores never did. I have not seen any evidence that they have driven out small business, quite the opposite.

I consider myself an informed consumer and gladly go to Wal Mart for some things and won't for others. They may be the worlds largest but they still only have 2% of the total retail business world wide so there is plenty of room for everyone else to compete.

this is a car place , obama won . time to stop crying about dumb **** ,like taking your dog to wal mart , and worry about whats at hand . the vote was the only thing i thought would be a big thing to bicker over . but no now its about a dog not being able to go in to a store that has it mandated that it cant come in no mater size or breed . who cares . dont go . now back to the mopar car talk kids.

I think one reason for wal-mart hate is the fact that once you see them pop up, it pretty much means the beginning of the end for your small town, small hardware stores, mini farms and pretty tracts of undeveloped land.

The community I live in was really pretty ten years ago with all of this, now there are literally 4 wal-Mart stores within a 5 mile stretch of road, the community is the nations fastest developmental area, and I'm sortof thankful that the housing market slowed down because it seems developers were just foaming at the mouth like wolves at the door waiting to buy up, srtrip the soil, and lay down asphault on any and every piece of land that the owners felt the need to cash in on.

Just way too much population.
Too many illegals and cheap apartment communities going up EVERYWHERE, it is truly unfreaking believable how much poplulation poured into this area in the last 10 years.

I truly feel like a stranger in my own country.
