"No Budget" 1966 Valiant 100 straight axle GASSER

-
Looks like you need to get that fire going out by those two blue chairs....

Yep, Thats my spot to get out of the house and set with a friend or my Dog next to a fire and enjoy a cold one and fresh air. :thumleft:

Greenie.

I want to give a thanks shout out to you on your recycling methods. After seeing your "bedframe" portion of the build, it gave me the idea to save a bedframe from one of the kids baby beds that we were getting rid of (bed, not the kid :)). I have it pre cut, and ready for use on the Colt build. with the riveted corners, etc, it will be VERY easy to whip up a battery tray!

Thanks for the idea!

FastFish - Is that the same ol Dodge that you had at Shadybrooke? I thought it was a burgundy color? It's looking badaz in the snaps - of course the fish looks as good as ever.

send me your e mail ill send you more pics of my 40 dodge,,,, let me know what you have you may not want ., thanks fstfish66@aol.com

Don, Must be mistaken and thinking of another car that was at the show. Now that I think of it my friend Kelly and a few of his friends brought our trucks and bumped into you there - you didn't have either of your cars with you. I'm sure I was looking at something else that was Burgundy though. I really need to see the Blue Coupe - once it warms up a bit, swing by when you get a chance.

Anyway as far as the Duster . . . :sleepy1: I'm still in the "digging out" phase trying to get the garage to a point where I can see, let alone work on, the car. And it's going way to slow:sad1:. So as not to hijack this thread and bore everyone to death with the itsy bitsy bumps of progress I'm making if you're interested in the baby steps go to:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=57328

Since it's supposed to warm up today [a whopping high of 25] I need to get off the air and into the garage. Later

joe u stop by,,make plans e mail me check my schedule the blue coupe wont be out for a while,,,,,yes warming up,,and my furnace has quit 3 times so far this weeeknd,,,,

Guys I'm glad we're keeping this thread alive.

I've been wondering for some time now what's going on with greenhornet? I did a search by user name "greenhornet" and it looks as if his last post on this site was on this thread - 11/14/10 @ 11:03PM.

Anyone hear from him lately?

Bedframes is da chit, lite weight an super strong.. The frame I made will support my fuel cell, hold my battery and give me a place to mount my fuel filter and pump and it's removable with just 4-bolts...

A pair of Moon eye stickers will be a must do Hornet :thumrigh:

Hey Green!!! Glad to see you're back. Can most certainly appreciate the reason for the time lapse.

Now that the weather is back I decided to take this Fri - Mon off to get "something" started on my Duster (best made plans of mice and men) so Wed night my daughter's car (99 Taurus, 56k miles) decides to need a steering rack . I started Thurs after work till 11:30p, then picked up Fri at 8a finishing around 10p. What a royal pain in the arse job that was. Alignment shop Sat 7a, job complete her car is safe again.

So now its Sunday and here I sit on the computer:angry7:

Time to get some grub and get with it.

Glad to see you're back - look forward to progress updates.

Yeah non-project projects can really distract from the main project, a few more days work on my old '63 chev rat rod truck an I can get back on the gasser, I wanna drive the truck some this spring before gas hits $5-$6 a gallon.. Heres a truck update, I got the interior all business, had some hijackers laying around put them on for when I haul an engine or something, when I'm not haulin' the truck will sit as low as possible, trucks hang an handle better low to the ground..
