Hopefully it works. One good effect of the cash for clunkers is that those exploders got dropped like a bad habit. My local pick and pull has like 9 of them with the disc rear end.
I'll probably do that down the road. For now i need to get the simple stuff to make the car more sporty. Such as adding wheels and that short ratio pitman arm for handling and finding a way to bump up the power without breaking the bank. Those are the big things driving me nuts.
Well, there are always vise grips for leverage. Use a fairly long driver.(hopefully one with a Hex shaped shaft), lock on a set of grips, use one hand to hold pressure on the bolt head, and the other hand on the grips to turn the driver.
Been awhile since i updated my thread.
8.25 w/ 3.55s and trac lok is in the car. It was a simple swap other then doing drum brakes for the first time.
Also got new times. It did a best of 15.8 with just the gear change. Then added a new 3/8" fuel sender unit hoping to fix my fuel gauge...
you know...i was almost gonna say something to that effect.
There is also the possibility(very likely) that this is a 24hr walmart, and 4 strippers got off shift....too late to bring their kids.
well, i installed a set of axle saver bearings earlier today so we'll see how it goes. From what i can tell it looks to have really minimized the play compared to how it was before. Hopefully it holds up. I should have it in the car next week(if i can find the free time)
Has anyone used these before? Yesterday a shop found that one of my axles is too worn on to be re-used with the standard style axle bearing. From my understanding, the repair bearing just moves the bearing to a different riding surface.
goods/bads??
Does anyone know where i can get some replacement 8.25 axles? I had some gears put in my 8.25 and the shop called me today to tell me i need to replace atleast one of the axles before i can swap it into my car.
well thanks, so far i've only like the way the mach1 wheels came out in the chops.
Here are two more ideas i thought of today, one has been done on here, but not in my color scheme:
gray mustang bullits on a gray car:
Not mustang, but in the general theme of modern wheels on an Abody, z06...
here are a few ideas i came up with and posted on pro-touring.com. Some came out better then others, i really dig the mach 1 wheels:
not mine, but cool anyways, someone suggested and shopped GT500 wheels
I switched the photo to black& white so the color scheme would closely match my...
When i had an older jeep for a daily driver.(no locks), i went all summer with a bikini top and no one though twice about messing with it. The first week i put on the soft top. Someone got in it and stole my radio faceplate and all the CD's in the jeep(all copied CD-R's)
