    Not a Mopar, but...

This is some of my favorite stuff to do on cars. You can see what this Pontiac trim panel looked like before I got my hands on it, and after it was done. The owner bought this 65 GTO four speed tri power car brand new in 1965 for 3k out the door. First I completely stripped the entire panel of...

Stop theives from stealing your expensive lenses.

I once had all the lenses and bezels stolen off my 66 Falcon and it was a real downer. After that I started using stainless allen head machine screws from the local hardware store. It keeps some jerk thinking a phillips screwdriver is all he needs for easily taking them off. Kinda complicates...

Finally got some more paint done.

I'm doing panel at a time because my car has to be drive able during the week for business calls. Body work, sanding, priming and sanding more in the evenings of the week and spray on weekends. It took me 2 weeks to get this cowel ready for paint, and I joke about having to start all over by the...

Simple inexpensive LED lighting for 71-73 Darts

I have tried multiple different LED solutions for rear lighting, and some worked better than others, but this is the simplest, easiest solution yet. Maxxima part number M42206R bought from Amazon.com I have tried the plug in LED replacement bulbs, soldered boards and even LED strips. These are...

    Well Crap :-)

I went out to get my briefcase out of the trunk of my Dart, turned the key and nothing. No spring back and no open, so I could totally picture the little arm that releases the latch hanging there loose from the lock mechanism and the coiled spring hanging on it broken. Just got done putting the...

    I Just can't leave **** alone. :-)

Ok, the latest fiasco involves some major changes to the rear lighting. I always wanted more visible than stock lighting in the back and tried a few different options including replacing my backup lenses with normal tail/brake/turn lenses and using all four as Tail/brake/turn, and sacrificing...

Glass polishing report on a product I purchased.

For the price I thought I would give this a try and it works really well for light scratching and hazing from wipers on the glass. 9Pcs Glass Polishing Kit Scrach Remover 8OZ Cerium Oxide Powder 3'' Wheel Pad US | eBay The Wife's 72 Dart had an annoying haze arc where the wipers ran on the...

Backup lights with the metal trim in the center

Can anyone tell me what years or models of Dart Swingers used the polished metal rectangle shaped trim around the outside of the clear center. The Wife's 72 has a really nice condition passenger backup side lens with the metal and all the others are painted silver instead of metal. If I trade...

A bit of body and paint stuff finished (or close)

As some may know I am painting my daily driver one section at a time while driving it most every day. I grind, smooth, fill and primer during the week a little at a time and then major stuff happens on weekends when it can cure before I have to drive it again. I had to replace the passenger side...

    Finally after 5 years

I have another fender on, with no badging and antenna delete. (how I wanted it) Now after all this time it looks strange having a non buckled fender.:D You can see how it was before this weekend in the second pic, where the front was crunched along with the bezel and the fender buckled and beat...

AE Paint a panel at a time.

I'm good with it so far, so if I can keep it moving along like this I'll be happy with it. This is single stage Acrylic Enamel in a kit that came from TCP Global, and it comes with hardener filters and stir stick at about 115 a gallon kit. Since I have to daily drive this car, I do primering...

    Those pesky lower quarters.

I was noticing one day that even cars without rust holes have chips and dings from crap off the tires, and it seems that if there isn't a trunk leak this must be the cause of the problem. Does anyone make anything besides stupid looking mud flaps to help protect that area. I was thinking to...

2 things about trim and driprails that help.

I have done work on roofs rails and drip rail moldings on a couple of different cars now and found two things in the process that seem to help. 1. Using a 3 inch section of old 5/8 heater hose makes a great tool for crimping drip rail trim back on the edges of the gutter without marking or...

Ever try to duplicate a vinyl top with paint?

This was/is just an experiment to see how it works out over time. (probably get a real vinyl one later anyway) I started with a mostly bare and rusted roof, wire brushed down and coated with Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. After that dried I went over it twice with a thick roller and very heavy...

Where to get a 72 Swinger rear window seal?

The wife (Stephanie) wanted me to ask you all where a good place and decent priced rear window seal can be gotten for her car? I just got a payment confirmation from Paypal for a SoffSeal trunk seal, so the chick must have a car stash I didn't know about. :D

    Problems Removing Wheel Trim Screws

I'm sure at some point or another we all have, or will run across those trim screws that just don't want to move. Well, the other day I found a way to get those stubborn little mothers out when they are glued in with rust or 40 year old undercoating. I used a pair of Vise Grips and put the top...

A quick question about POR15 and drip rail.

I have never used POR15 before but it says "Can be applied directly to metal and rust". (It's rust encapsulator) I noticed a crack in the caulking right about the center of the window on the passenger side so I pulled up the loose section about 6 inches long to see what I was dealing with. The...

    Young Gun Tip#133

Did you know? If you have an ignition key that fits, but it won't work on your door locks you can pop this little cover off and dump the springs and tumbler pins out of it. At this point your key will turn the lock, but unfortunately any key will. (Or even just a small screwdriver will) Here's...

    So whats the general opinion?

Got my new wheels put on yesterday and took a pic or two. I put the pic in my photo program and removed the rocker panel chrome and I like it better without it, but whats the general oppinion? Chrome or no? Oh, I added the stripe with the program also, and think I'm doing that either way.
