1st pic. is the 340 in my '72 Demon, 2nd pic. is a 360 in my '77 W300 Dump truck/plow truck, and last is a 2001 360 Magnum (dressed up like an LA small block) waiting to go in my '71 Dart Swinger.

360 LA installed in my 74 Challenger - a 71 360 with a roller cam, roller rockers, ported 915 heads with 2.02 valves, a Thermoquad and TTI headers. She sounds sweet and runs mid 13's in the quarter...

very understated, almost a sleeper
how does the gv o/d affect the 4500 stall convertor? it must still be slipping when the o/d's engaged surely? just curious.
thanks, neil.

That convertor has great street manners. It's a "tight" 4500. Lol.
Been running it for 12 years behind 2 different engines. Under normal driving, I really don't notice any stall at all. 2 seasons now since adding the GV and still the same.

This one blowed up. Assembled dirty and incorrectly. Some parts were also not there... It ran real hard for a handful of passes.
Gonna find out at lunch, if there's a rebuild in the future. Lots of stuff got hurt.

I am so sorry this happened. It was a very cool build. Do you plan to post a teardown thread so we can learn what happened?

I powder coated the air cleaner lid and valve covers myself. Please ignore the cleaning cloth. I thought I had a better picture.

We only found the cap for that rod. My Ritter block needs 2 sleeves, and both TI valves are bent in #1. The entire rotator needs to be replaced. I'm really having second thoughts.
There doesn't seem to be anybody capable and trustworthy to get it back together... in my lifetime.

I'm an orthopedic "nightmare on Elm St", and can't really handle the big parts anymore. I'm now at the mercy of other people's capabilities.

Didn't a lot of guys use Best Machine that is/was somewhere in your area? It's been a long time since I've seen any of the folks in your area mention them.
