I'm in the 12s! I now have a 12 second street car with Ice cold AC and cruise control for drives to the track.
Previous to this weekend, my best was 13.20 at 105 and change. Friday night I pulled back to back 13.18s and then a 13.11.
I went back to the track Saturday morning to enter Sportsman class for the first time bracket racing in my life. First pass was a 12.99! I did it! I broke that magic barrier. I followed it up with another 12.99, and then a 12.97. All at right around the 104 mph with amazingly bad reaction times!
So for first round, I decided to dial a 12.96 hoping for marginal improvement again due to the air cooling. We'll I lined up with an old Fox Mustang running 14 something and I broke out by 6 frigging 10ths! That's right, I ran a 12.90 @104.92 (with a .4818 reaction time, but we won't talk about that!)
Never been happier to lose at anything. Regardless, the car still has lots more potential for improvement, but the driver, he may be a lost cause!

The track was way better as it always is for a regular race day vs t&t. Raised the rpm at launch and still stuck the tire. Went from 2.01 60' to 1.81 60'. Also I sealed the carb to the hood scoops fir cool air. That alone improved me over 1 mph on back to back runs. Now I have to keep all that stuff The same and whittle down my rt!

Might have to be a Gold Member?
I’m not sure.

Finally got our 1980 Dodge D150 out to the track again. A few small changes and YES! We get to post it here!
  • 200,000 mile 5.9, never pulled the oil pan. Oregon re-grind cam, Hughes valve spring, and a four barrel.
  • Hughes off the shelf torque converter in front of a free bee 727 that was headed to the junkyard that I did nothing to
  • 430 gear with a 29 inch tire
